No picks, no problem! Byron has developed the stone hands we're accustomed to seeing from our DB's.

Well, I wouldn't say he developed them when he's always been that way to begin with but I get your point. ;)

Agreed. But picks are real game changers at the right moment.

True but if that's what a team expects as a prerequisite from a DB, it'd be best to draft someone that did so in college. All I'm saying is that we shouldn't hold him to a standard if he never displayed it in his past and the team acquired him anyhow. It's merely about our expectations. ;)

Very similar to how Woody was used (manning up the slot corner; was/is unheard of and was great at it at that) though he was a SS in base coverage; bf Roy anyway.
Yeah. Around the GB game I made the same comparison in a post. And some jack wagon responded that it was an inappropriate comparison as Woody was a strong safety and therefore should be likened to Church. I about fell off my chair. I tried to be gentle in my response but alas I may have failed. All of that to say I totally agree - though Byron can't lower the boom as Woody did but he makes up for that by being a bit more fluid in coverage.

No argument. It is not a thing that makes or breaks a players career. There is much more to Jones game than interceptions. This boy will be a great player and will get better every year.

I love Byron Jones and the way he has played so far this year. The deep pass breakups he has made this year showcased his athletic ability to a T, i think he is in the perfect position. I also am completely SHOCKED he doesn't have an interception yet on the season.

I honestly thought he would have around 6 Picks this year. I mean not that it matters we are winning thats what matters, but i just was sort of shocked he doesn't even have 1 yet.

Hopefully as he settles in to the position more they will come it will just be extra Icing on the cake. Jones has a great chance to get a couple today since Big Ben will go deep so here is to BYRON JONES having himself a game today.
I sure hope so.

In a passing league not a bad tradeoff

For sure would like to clone him one for bennett and one for gronk LOL
Oh yeah...Martellus gonna be looking for some PAYBACK that's for sure...that will be some intrigue!

Would be ironic if Witten is MVP of that game!

Safeties that get picks normally have a great pass rush in front of them. The Cowboys DL is decent but it's not a great passing rushing unit at this time.

Woody was an All Safety.

The guy was simply a football player and could play any position in the defensive backfield.

I think the opposite safety is more likely to get picks in this defense. Byron is the guy in last line of the defense and the strong side guy is going to have more opportunities as a robber to jump routes.
