I'm Shocked Byron Jones Doesn't have a Pick Yet?

I think the opposite safety is more likely to get picks in this defense. Byron is the guy in last line of the defense and the strong side guy is going to have more opportunities as a robber to jump routes.
Agreed...his presence has allowed Barry to roam and read.

If you see that for a fs, then look at the tackles and see if he is tackling a lot because that will tell if he is being targeted and/or allowing completions.

From that total, take into account the possible times where he bailed out a cb or lb in coverage and was there for the tackle.

From what I see, he is not being targeted enough for him to get a pick and he does a good job with coverage when he is.

Yeah. Around the GB game I made the same comparison in a post. And some jack wagon responded that it was an inappropriate comparison as Woody was a strong safety and therefore should be likened to Church. I about fell off my chair. I tried to be gentle in my response but alas I may have failed. All of that to say I totally agree - though Byron can't lower the boom as Woody did but he makes up for that by being a bit more fluid in coverage.

Woody was a stud in coverage.

When you play 30 yards off the ball every play its kinda hard. Also did you see him try and pickup the fumble tonight?

His instincts still need some work, but he really hasn't gotten much of an opportunity as he plays mostly deep zone. The safeties that get the picks are the ones that bracket receivers in mid zones and if there's an overthrow or the receiver drops a pass they can get the pickup.
