I'm sick and tired of the "Take Zimmer with you, Payton" posts

Sean Payton was the most unimaginitive, predictable, vanilla offensive coordinator in our franchise's history. Our offensive has never been and would have never been anything special with his playcalling.

Over the last 3 years, Mike Zimmer's defense has averaged #10 in the NFL, and that's with a year of almost no defensive talent and a year in a completely new scheme. His #1 defense is the ONLY reason, the ONLY reason why we made the playoffs in 2003. They were the ONLY reason we had a chance to make the playoffs this year. I don't give a damn as to how many turnovers we force, or how many sacks we get, I care about how many yards we give up and how many points the other team scores. Is he an aggressive DC? No. Does he get the job done? The stats don't lie.

they are the same man. uncreative and unimaginative. Zimmer is by far the worse though. Payton actually has a rep and can do some things. Zimmer didn't do anything imo, the defense was #1 that year, not because they were the best but because we were so conservative, and had so much TOP they didnt get a lot of yards. Zimmer needs to go.

I don' think you grasp this:

Aggresive doesnt win games, not giving up 400 yards and 30 PPG does

I dunno I think Zimmer's done a good job every year he's been here minus the year they gave him freaking Mario Edwards and Pete "Out of the League" Hunter for cornerbacks. I think he definitely deserves at least a shot at a head coaching gig. I didn't really think Payton has necessarily earned the same although I guess they think he has the ability to get the most out of a QB. I will be interested to see how he does in NO anyway, I think he'll be alright. Wonder who his DC will be...I bet he brings a bunch of people from the staff he was on in New York.

It's funny that you mention puppet, considering Payton was Parcells whipping boy while Zimmer was given complete control of the defensive playcalling.

Nice try, though

I dont think you grasp the fact that Zimmer sucks.. How many times did his D choke in a big game ? On the last drive when we needed it ? His blitz schemes are the worst in the league. He doesnt disguise well. The D always shows their cards on blitz. Zimmer has done NOTHING since he has been here. NOTHING !!! Get the heck out of town Zimm you are the worst in the league. Bring back Campo to run our defense, anyone but Zim

Payton will be owned by the players. He does not scare anyone. He has a boyish face and no attitude. The players will walk all over him. I mean who actually thinks NFL players will respect this guy as a coach. When you look like a wittle boy you better have an attitude like Gruden, but he doesnt. He will get owned by the real men on the team.

You think maybe, just maybe, the late game breakdowns were because we had 5 rookies conrtributing/starting on defense? Of course you didnt, because that would require objective thinking, something this board seems to lack these days

And Campo never had the #1 defense, never even close

o please, dallas isnt the only team in football to have rookies starting on defense or offense every year. how about mike zimmer design a blitz that actually works? u see exactly where every guy is coming from and very rarely do they even get to the QB.

neither of us know who's actually doing what, but this is the same lame *** vanilla offense & defense thats been here since parcells got to dallas. so why are u putting the blame on Payton, when players themselves have come out and said they have tried to get Parcells to open the offense up more? Are you gonna tell me that they're telling Bill to tell Payton to open it up? if so, pass me some of what your smoking!:laugh1:

Tell you what: You name me one other defense in the NFL that had up to 5 rookies on the field at one time, I'll hop on the ditch Zimmer bandwagon and not look back.

And just so yuo don't waste your whole evening desperately trying to prove a point, let me help you arent: There arent any others

And Payton never had a #1 offense, or even a top 10 offense. Zimmer conssitantly has good defenses, even when Campo was here.

Yes, it's Payton's fault he didn't call the "magical" plays that would of made our OL block better.

Again...

tell me 1 team in the league who doesnt have at least 1 rookie starting for them on defense.

while your at it, tell me how many #1 offenses the cowboys have had or even top 10 offenses since parcells got here. everyone and their momma knows this is parcells offense, Drew Bledsoe wasnt begging Payton to open it up I promise you that.

There's this thing called the 3 step drop that Sean Payton has never heard of. See, it's what you use when you have an inept o-line so the QB can get the ball out quickly. However, Payton continued to believe he had Mike Vick back there and called 5 and 7 step drops all game.

Again...

Class is dismissed

I never said there was a team that didnt have rookies playing on defense, however this has no bearing on this discussion as we have 5, other teams have or 2, 3 tops. When half your D is rookies, it tends to make clutch defensive stops hard to come by.

Jesus, have you ever watched a football game in your life?

lets see... first it was Maurice Carthon running the offense. then Payton for the last 2 years. offense hasnt changed 1 bit. What does that say to you? Tells me didnt matter who was called the "OC" it was Dwayne Parcells running the show and everyone knows that....

HH31...you might consider putting Wolverine on "ignore." That move itself will get rid of about 75% of the anti-Zimmer posts you don't want to read anymore.

(Works great...trust me!)

ive never debated whether our rookies caused us games or not. but i do think its stupid and a poor excuse to blame it on rookies. I do debate that fact that mike zimmer is the worst excuse for a DC in the world.

have you not watched what defenses like the steelers or patriots are able to do with their defenses and blitz schemes...

No, I think it was generally because Zimmer decided to go to a play back scheme, no blitz at all, which led to offenses walking all over us in the final minutes of the game. I think you are giving zimmer too much credit, and trying to play off everyone disagreeing with you as "non objective opinions." Maybe you should look in the mirror.

Class is dismissed, huh?

Is this the same class that taught you about those 30 yard slants?

If so, I hope you aren't paying for those classes.
