I'm sick and tired of the "Take Zimmer with you, Payton" posts

plenty in the draft

I like Bobby Carpenter, Manny Lawson, Kai Parham, Ellis Dummervil, Twombley from FSU

Yeah but we need Oline horribly. I don't think Lawson and Dumerville will be there in the 2nd. Kai is better suited to play ILB. He's perfect for that spot. I wouldn't mind him in the 2nd and Akin Adoyele in FA.

OT is deep this year, we could get someone like Andrew Whitworth of Jeremy Trueblood in the 2nd

Thats true, but teams like Houston will take those guys before us. Houston,Detroit, and Green Bay they'll be gone before we can get them. Our best bet is to take McNeil if he's there.

You know thats what I hear too, but those same sites still have him as the 4th best tackle. Maybe he will check out completely healthy at the Combine. Patience is a virtue, let's see how he checks out medically in a few months.

Sean Payton was the most unimaginitive, predictable, vanilla offensive coordinator in our franchise's history. Our offensive has never been and would have never been anything special with his playcalling.

Over the last 3 years, Mike Zimmer's defense has averaged #10 in the NFL, and that's with a year of almost no defensive talent and a year in a completely new scheme. His #1 defense is the ONLY reason, the ONLY reason why we made the playoffs in 2003. They were the ONLY reason we had a chance to make the playoffs this year. I don't give a damn as to how many turnovers we force, or how many sacks we get, I care about how many yards we give up and how many points the other team scores. Is he an aggressive DC? No. Does he get the job done? The stats don't lie.

True, but how many times did our d choke? You count I'm too tired. 9-7 Doesn't lie either.....

I think we get RT in FA and draft OL rd 3 or later to develop. last time Dallas took OLine rd 1 was 1981 last time Parcells took OLine rd 1 was mid 80s

Notice something in all the games the D "choked" the allowed less than 14 or so points total. maybe the O choked eh?

Brother, trends were made to be broken. If a healthy McNeil is there, BP will consider taking him. BP was going to take Andrews until Philly leap frogged us in the draft.

We will see, but a rookie OLineman doesnt fix our OLine problems for this season a Vet does.

I'm not saying a rookie RT is a cure for what ails us, but I'm tired of retreads. The only FAs we need should be in the 26-27 year age. If we can't get Berry in FA, get McNeil and go through the growing pains. Besides some rookie tackles play extrememly well. We need to plan for the future and present at the same time.

See thats the problem next year is a win now year. So growing pains arent really an option. Some rookie tackles play well but are you willing to gamble the season on him doing well or get a stop gap and develop a OL for in a year or 2

It's not set that rookie tackles don't play well. I'm willing to gamble if our options are Runyan or another old a** tackle. Not willing if Barry is there.

See you may wanna gamble, but you are gambling because you knwo you will be a fan here in 2 years. Parcells wont make that gamble because he will be gone
