I'm wondering ... could Thompson push Barber off the team?

the thought is crossing my mind with his lack of playing time tonight.

Hope it is due to his surgery though.

The only way MBIII makes this team is if Dallas keeps four RBs.

nope...more likely they wanted to see more of Thompson to decide if he makes the team over another position player.

A-Train and Barber were already penciled in on the roster for experience and investment...tonight was the time to make a decision on Thompson or a player at another position, imo.

I think it depends.

If Bill truely decides to "go by what I see" then how can he cut Thompson and keep Barber. Both lack experience, but one is tearing it up every chance he gets while the other nurses an injury, and fumbles when he did play.

Can you make the club 'in the tub?' When I saw that Barber didn't play tonight, the thought crossed my mind. Certainly Thompson deserves to make it. You don't keep the lesser player even though he's a second day pick. If Tuna keeps 4, then obviously he makes it.

One thing's for certain, Dallas is very deep at RB. It would be nice if Pittsburgh would call with a trade offer.

Are you going to keep Ryan over Barber? The final spot may come down to those two and Ryan has a more severe injury than Barber. Plus, I think Barber has more promise than Ryan. It shouldn't be that hard to find blocking TE's.

Not out of the question. But I think that Parcells isn't sure what he has with Barber yet and will find a way to keep him.

Barber just might have a staff infection in that blister.;)

He's got a staff infection alright... from having BP's seldom used walking stick shoved up his. "It's only a cut boy. Show me what you got." "Can't do it coach, it hurts like hell." "You think that hurts, I've got a cut commin' up that'll kill ya'."

i saw bill parcells go up to thompson after his touchdown and say something privately to him. after that thompson went to a teammate, and i read his lips, he said "i made it man". he was telling his teammate that he made the team. so we all should know he will make the team, the only one in question is barber.

Must have been a great moment for the kid when parcells pulled him aside to say that.

No matter what they do with Barber, I'm glad to see Thompson make it, and if not for Barber being a fourth rounder instead of a FA, I think Barber would be gone. I saw Barber play in college, and while he may be a good player, I never thought he was good enough to warrant a fourth round pick from us.
