I'm worried! Can this team handle Success and keep it going?

If the coaches put solid game plans together and the players execute the game plans, without to many penalties or mistakes, I definitely think we have the talent to win 5 in a row and do some serious damage in the playoff. This team is different physically! We match up in the Trenches!!

Physically this team can do it. Mentally I hope they can, but they still need to prove it. Again the coaches need solid game plans. This worries me too. We looked wildly inconsistent earlier in the season due to poor game plans on both offense and defense. (See Arizona game )

Can our players and coaches handle success and keep the winning streak going?
You should be worried. Margin for error is almost nothing and 30 years of coming up small in big spots. Be worried.

Handling prosperity has always been difficult for the Cowboys....
Absolutely. No NFL team is as big a media circus as this team. In a (tiny) way, I feel sorry for the players having to deal with all the outside noise. It does not help that they are run by the biggest circus clown of them all.

Too bad you can’t be excited about what’s been happening as the team grows. It even has a chance, be it small, to make the playoffs.

Im a bit more concerned now, because I have actual hope. I was getting to be fairly numb, but now they've drug my hopes and dreams back into the mix. Its stressful.
I'm still trying to just enjoy the ride, realizing that it would not take much to end it at this point. It's tough in the NFL to win seven or eight games in a row, so I think expecting it to happen is too much. And for some it's going to be viewed as mental weakness or a lack of leadership, etc.

Like you, I hope to win, but I think some of us have become Lloyd from "Dumb and Dumber" ... "So you're telling me there's a chance!" The odds are against us.

If they beat Detroit, that'll be Schotty's big test. Keep them focused over the rest of the games that they should have no problem winning.
Chargers are 8-4. I don't consider them a no problem team. Of course, a lot depends on the health of their QB. I hate that he had to have hand surgery this week before playing Philly.

I feel similar.

Hopefully the players will play up to their potential and the coaches will coach up to theirs. If those 2 things happen we will be in great shape.
This team is different! It can win in the trenches( D line ) or at least hold its own( O line ). If the O line holds its own the skill players will make plays.

I will holler in the holler when we see success, good lad.
Have you seen it? Do you mean 6-5-1

Handling prosperity has always been difficult for the Cowboys since the 90's teams went away. The main reason is the amount of media and hype that engulfs them anytime they even sniff the tiniest hint of success now. Back in the day yeah the media loved the Cowboys but it was not one tenth of what it is now in terms of 24x7 attention. Those guys rented a house out and staffed it with ****** and coke dealers and the media never found their way into it. Can you imagine them attempting any such thing now? It's difficult for any human being to hear how great you are over and over and over and over and not have it affect you. And then you add in that a lot of today's media ONLY pumps you up so they can tear you down later and you get what you get. Our only hope is that Schottie is young enough and savvy enough to relate to his guys while being old and wise enough to manage all that attention. Like placing limits on appearances.. media access et al. Force guys to keep their eyes on the prize. If he fails to do that then this team will repeat the sins of years past. They will beat Detroit then forget to show up against the Chargers or Vikings. Time will tell.
Good post Ron.

In my opinion the one thing lacking on recent teams was cohesive leadership.
This new version has vets that let their work and play do the talking that gets the headlines for the right reasons. To an extent, i think it's getting contagius.

Yeah, we've got flashy personalities with egos, but they can walk the walk, without getting to boastful.

worrying is not going to help anything. it's up to the coaches to gameplan and the players to continue to execute.

That's all.
