was letting the Commanders win 3 games against us. AND letting them sweep a season on us. If there was one thing the other coaches could od was beat the Commanders. but Nooooo, bill parcells not only let them beat us. but sweep us for the first time since when?? Over 10 years??

That IMO was his biggest failure

Seriously? This was his biggest failure?

I would rate to the o-line mediocrity, unstable QB position, unaggressive implementation of the 3-4, etc, alot higher on the list that him losing to the Skins.

well, i hate losing the skins as much as any other blue/silver-blooded cowboys fan.

however, his failures on the OL to name one is a much bigger problem. the only way we pass the iggles in the division is improve the play in the trenches.

Two of those losses we're big time flukes. Basically players not executing...

Game one 2005 - Moss gets behind the entire secondary not once but twice for 2 late TDs.

Game two 2006 - Columbo basically steps aside and let's a Commander block our game sealing FG.

Not much Parcells or any head coach can do about that.

When you look at the positives against the negatives, Parcells was an average coach and when you look at his record while coaching the Cowboys it even goes to prove that point even more...

He failed to produce a good offensive line until 2006, a real QB until the 6th game of his last season, and his 3-4 defense never lived up to the hype.....

The thing is though that Parcells made the Cowboys relevant again. He brought the team back from the failures under Switzer, Gailey, and Campo and although always loyal to his old players he brought in alot of talent.

His tenure may serve as a bridge to bigger and better things.

I agree 100 percent!

I hate the deadskins and I still feel that the blocked FG and then them beating us at their place is the worst feeling I ever had watching the boys.....much harder then what ROMO did........dang it! :star:

Sorry.

But I guess you loved Campo because he did so well against the skins.

Actually that was one of his few bright spots as HC.

Bill had problems no doubt.

Others have addressed what I feel to be bigger failures with the Cowboys.

Losing to the skins, as crappy as it was, was not among the top failures in my mind.

It almost sounds like some of the skins fan line of thinking. Hating another team more than loving your own.

Actually I dont, I think campo was the worst HC ever, and i hope he never ever comes back to the cowboys simply, because he made me suffe through my only four years of High school, being ridculed and, taunted, because that idoitic slut, couldnt BEAT THE GOT DA** TEXANS :bang2: :banghead:

and point well made, but still, if he could have at least kept them from sweeping us, i could have been happy. But he not only let them beat us, but then sweep us, and then beat us again :\.

Well, Aaron Glenn was very much _his_ guy.

You could say the win at home in 2004 was a fluke for Dallas. Crayton got behind the secondary to score.

I agree with the failure being in the o-line. If that were fixed, then Dallas may have won those 3 games they lost to Washington and perhaps a few more.

the Oline and sticking w/ the Cover-2 were his biggest failures

it remains to be seen if the DEs he drafted fail or suceed

Seriously?

A decent record against a division rival is worse than trading down instead of taking Steven Jackson? Worse than trying to make Zimmer fit into the 3-4? Worse than Marco Rivera and Dat Dude?

Campo couldnt beat the texans, but even he could beat the skins. If you cant get a team ready to beat a team, that was so inferior to us, then as a coach you fail.

It still remains to be seen whether or not that was a bad trade. Macro rivera was a good move, just snake bit. Dat Dude, so wat, he was gone the next year

Not winning the Super Bowl is always deemed a failure in Dallas so that being said there have only been 5 successful seasons in franchise history and Parcells was never at the helm of any of them.
