I think the one who stood out the most is Morris Claiborne. Just the way he is carrying himself. Add in a little attitude he has and its refreshing to see.

Something that had me thinking was a email they read on CB is was about Carr. A emailer from KC that said the reason he was so loved in KC was he was the best #2 CB in the NFL. And that had them agreeing and brouht up that maybe Carr just isnt a #1 CB. Just maybe Dallas would be better off playing Mo or Scandrick on the left side. Both seem to have better all round skills and speed. But Carr handles them possession receivers alot better. Just thought id throw that out there that got my attention and made some sense.

Bruce Carter is said to be moving around better, like he just understands what he's doing now. That jumps up his reaction time and makes him better all around. And watching him in them LBer drills the first day, the guy just has so much power its clear he needs to be playing the SAM spot. The way he was throwing around that sled was awsome.

Tyron Smith is just a beast theyre saying. He hasnt lost one single battle they have put him in Not one. Its crazy that he's in his forth yr, and the guy is only 23 and doesnt turn 24 until december. Thats insane.

He's not really being talked about yet, but i said this kid had something to look at, Chris Boyd. He is strong and tall. He attacks the ball at its high point. He's beating the people they put him against. Granted its only rookies at this point, but he showing that he is more then a UFA. I see this guy being that 6th WR.
Dez, Williams, Beasley, Harris, Street, Boyd

Tyrone Crawford, is going to be a force inside. I dont see him beating out Selvie, but that 2nd group and i can see him coming in on them passing downs with Melton in the middle to get some good pressure up the middle.

George Selvie, is just bigger and stronger. What a yr will do for confidence in a player is amazing. Selvie teaming with Gardner on the strong side IMO is going to be tougher then some think for teams.

Kyle Wilber is not going to be the starting SAM. I think this team will end up uing him in that Leo role.

My prediction for starting Lbers
WILL - Bruce Carter
Mike - Rolando McClain
SAM - Davonte Hollomon

While Dunbar is showing some flash, I think Ryan Williams is going to end up taking snaps from Dunbar that he wouldve gotten. Williams is only a slight tad behind Dunbar in quickness and speed with more size. Word is Williams is showing alot in receiving out of the backfield.

Travis Fredrick is going to be a wall this yr.

Henry Melton is quick off the snap. Theres no doubt he is going to be a force this team didnt have last yr in the middle. Hatcher got sacks but he doesnt have the movement that Melton does. If McClain can occupy two blockers on a consistent basis Melton is going to be a monster this yr.

Zack Martin, getting praise from Melton is all you need to know Dallas made the right choice. He's held his own vs Melton and dominated everybody else who they have put him up against.

Rolando McClain, I have a feeling this kid is going to be a force this yr. The size and the intensity he plays with is what this team needs.

Its early, but its good to see that some players you wanted to come out and show up have and have made impressions. Its a step forward.

Both should prove decent-to-good change of pace running backs, but I am concerned about how well they will pass protect whenever they're not rushing or involved in a pass play out the backfield? There will be times where they will provide Romo extra protection. I wonder if either has improved in that regard? They do not necessarily need to stonewall a blitzing defender, but the better of the two backs will have the ability of always recognizing and reacting to the blitz. I just do not want Romo taking a cheap shot while Williams or Dunbar stand around looking stupid.

Just curious: Are you actually there or is this a collection of what you read about it?

As far as Carr, I've saying the same thing for awhile - great #2...not so much #1. I wonder if it wouldn't be better to put Scandrick in the #1 role and let Carr and Claiborne battle it out for the #2.

They talked about this and said Williams passblocking is the biggest improvement in his game. Broaddus said seeing sone of his tape in college to now is a big difference. It can get better but its alot better then what he's shown

The DTs particularly Coleman gave the interior linemen fits yesterday. But I'm not there. I just saw this on film.

Yeah theyre giving fits to the 2nd stringers from what im seeing. Coleman gave Mack fits tho. And went head up with fredrick and got him once.

And yet many around here--fans and the press--seem to think the defense will not be better this year.

I'll keep saying it....they for sure will be better, and maybe drastically better.

They have to prove though; talk is just talk.

I would suggest that improvement gives him a slight edge over Dunbar. If he performs well during preseason, Dunbar might become less of a offensive weapon in Linehan's plans as you alluded to earlier.

I'm personally waiting to see what Tyrone Crawford can do in this 4-3. His injury was devastating last year. If anyone on the defensive line has anything to prove, it's Crawford. I'm rooting for him to perform up to his own expectations, which I know are high. Having someone else from Boise State playing on the defensive line should be inspirational for him as well.

I have already put my foot in my mouth by saying that I really believe that the defense is going to surprise some teams, fans...and screw the media.

I disagree on Wilber. I think this kid has a chance to be a good LB. He didn't even know the position last year and he played well all things considered. I see a more polished confident player this year who understands what his duties are. I do think Holloman is a player and I think he becomes the reason Carter isn't resigned

If Carter is having a good yr, the Cowboys wont even let him reach FA. Thats the way Jerry deals with his players. Some think its wrong and it has backfired sometimes. But then you have situations like Church. The Cowboys locked him up for 4 yrs 8mil. Jerry knocked it out of the park with that deal.

I doubt Williams cuts into Dunbar's touches... Dunbar is too versatile not to use, he's going to be a nice weapon in this offense.

Finesse OG, which Coleman is with his very good quickness, have a tremendous --and very unrealistic-- advantage in one on one or two on two sets. You cannot got that wide in a phone book. I am very interested in watching him play inside with the pads on and the lights as well.

Coleman, Crawford and Selvie are supposedly pushing people around. I don't see them going all out and I doubt they are punching that hard either so I need to see a lot more.
