All of us knew going into this game that there was a good possibility that:
1. The Skins were playing for their playoff lives.
2. The Boys had nothing to gain by winning the game.
The Skins knew it was do or dies for them. Their backs were against the wall and they obviously wanted it more. This also means they used their A game plan, holding nothing back and trying to attack the Cowboys weaknesses.
The Cowboys on the other hand played with little emotion and used a very basic vanilla game plan on both Offense and Defense. Coaches knew there was a chance they would play the Skins again in a couple of weeks.
Honestly, I am upset with the effort the team game, but tomorrow i will understand that the game planning, Players intesity and the game planning will be much improved in two weeks. The Cowboys coaches got a preview of what to expect as the Skins held nothing back. On the other hand we showed nothing and were without Owens, Glenn, Barber, Witten and Romo all playing together.
Cowboys coaches have two weeks to prepare while the Skins will be planning for the Seahawks.
With the Saints and Vikings both losing the Skins were in anyway. I would rather the Cowboys feel disrespected and humiliated with their performance and have a very focused two weeks of practice knowing that they will get the Skins who humiliated them and THINK they have their number. If they would have lost today they would still be in the playoffs and may feel a sence of urgency and hunger.
Let them come in super cocky and over confident. I have the confidence in Garrett, Romo, Owens, Barber, Witten that they WILL be ready. The next Cowboys game WILL have meaning and we WILL see a different team!
Go Cowboys!!
