Before we get too far into 2016, let us pause and remember those Cowboys who passed in 2015:

Jan 7: Jethro Pugh
Apr 1: Eddie LeBaron and J.D. Smith
Jun 18: Danny Villanueva
Aug 17: Mike Gaechter
Oct 25: Dennis Morgan
Dec 30: Ray Mathews

With seven deaths, I believe 2015 is the deadliest year on record for the Cowboys. Let's hope 2016 is kinder to the old guys.

For those who might not know - Danny Villanueva was the Cowboys kicker in the 60's and kicked in the Ice Bowl. After football he went on to become a billionaire as the founder of the media giant Univision in Mexico where his wealth dwarfed even Roger.

Mike Gaechter was a defensive back on the same teams.

RIP all of you guys.

The Cowboys were founded in 1960. Stands to reason these annual lists will grow as we move forward.

Pugh is the only guy on that list I saw play. Great player.

Not to nitpick - Villanueva was a great success.

But he sold what was to become Univision well before it became a billion dollar business.

He still made millions but nowhere near a billion, and nowhere near what Roger is worth (approx 600 million). So he didn't dwarf Roger in wealth - quite the opposite. Roger is the wealthiest former player of all time.

No offense to a great man but facts are necessary.

Yep good catch - I had read the worth of Univision after his death - thanks for that.

It's not often that God gets to meet this many of HIS idols in the same year.....After all, the Cowboys are his favorite team.....
