You don't have to praise Terry Glenn on this board cause most of us are big fans. But you are wrong in one respect; he's not the #2 best WR on the team but the #1 best WR--at least in 2006. We all want Glenn to make it back and play like he used to for 1 more year.
But we also trying to be realistic and prepare ourselves for the worst. We know he's turning 34, has serious knee problems which didn't allow him to play in 07 (wasn't fully healthy in Skins or Giants game), he has degenerative knee problems which require some kind of micro surgery which means he can't play for another year which probably means his career is over. Jerry Jones said the other deal that the odds are 50-50 if Glenn can return; tough odds but possibly doable but we gotta be prepared mentally to let Glenn go & add another WR who can help us.
Glenn desperately wants 1 last chance to win a SB. Understand before walking off the field after our playoff loss, he sat for a while holding a few blades of Texas Stadium turf--probably wondering if he'd ever plan again or maybe making him even more determined to play again. But sometimes wanting something doesn't mean you get it.
I want the Cowboys to win a SB this year, not only for us long suffering Cowboy fans but for also for old timers like Adams, Ellis & Glenn along with the younger guys & particularly TO cause I really think that's what he wants the most.
Also fed up with all the Romo-Simpson jokes which would end if we win at last a playoff game & permanently when we win the Super Bowl. It would really stick it in the media's crawl (read NY) and those fans of other teams like the Commanders, etc. to watch the Cowboys on opening nite (Thursday) in 2009 play in their new stadium as the home of the defending SB champs. You can beat whichever network covers that game will show extensive coverage of our new stadium, show our newest 6th SB banner, to go along with the other 5 which they be forced to show, etc. What a proud moment it would be for Cowboy fans everywhere & for Jerry Jones. It would even be more special if we could remember all the contributions Terry Glenn made in the 2008 season. If he's not at the opening 2009 game, you can bet he'd be watching it.
