Aside from the obvious--the fact that SHE is a phenomenal WR, what sticks out to me is Terry's absolute joy in playing. His reactions after his catches just remind me of a happy kid who's doing what he loves & is having an absolute blast. It's nice to see a vet like that still have that kind of fun--the same kind of joy you see in the rookies when they hit the field.

He's matured a lot since his rookie year.

T.O. is going the opposite direction.

I wish he wasn't so fragile.

Well, he's light years stronger than he used to be..what amazes me is TG beefed up SO much after age 30, and still doesn't seem to have lost speed or quickness.

I thought the very obvious muscle increase (and he's about as strong as a man his size can get I imagine) would affect his agility - it hasn't. I thought it would affect his takeoff - it hasn't. His elevation - it hasn't. His quickness - hasn't.

What it has affected is his ability to block, push off better, stiff arm, perhaps even be willing to take more hits over the middle.

Compared to the old Terry aka "the fawn", the new Terry is "the moose" - with no noticable loss of agility.

He is an amazing athlete, to be at age 32 a PHYSICALLY better player than he was in his so-called "prime".

Added to his greater physical strenth and stamina are his increased understanding of his defenders tendencies, his sly push offs, subtle offensive interferences, and other dirty tricks he almost always gets away with ;) , his more complete route and pattern repetoire, his always evident symbiosis with his QB, and his overall great 'tude'...the man is about as complete a receiver as you can find.

I've never doubted Glenn's ability as a receiver.

He's as good as they come.

I remember him at Ohio St. I was really hoping there was a way he'd be a Cowboy.

Now he is.

I love him on our team. He is an elite deep threat. It's just that he seems to be dinged an awful lot.

Hopefully, he's figured out a few tricks to keep himself healthy. Because right now, I feel we have two unreliable WRs.

Not unreliable on the field. But unreliable as to whether they'll play.

I hope he can stay injury-free so he can have as long and productive a career as guys like Isaac Bruce, Keenan McCardell, and former (d'oh!) Cowboy Jimmy Smith.

It's just hard to imagine what our WR core will be like with Owens. Yeah media is hunting for drama to fabricate. I could care less about T.O off the field.

I hear ya Bizwah, but since T has been here he has NEVER missed a game or part of a game to any of his many 'dings'.

Not the bursitis, not the broken fingers, not the blisters (and we just found out he has them last year), scrapes, muscle pulls, assorted bumps, scrapes, and bruises.

He only missed time to a serious injury, the foot sprain, and that was a re-aggravation of an injury he perhaps should have sat with.

So the good news, is he seems more willing to play thru pain then he was in NE.

Not unreliable on the field. But unreliable as to whether they'll play.

Well, major injuries can neither be predicted nor usually prevented...I trust tho, that if it comes to anything BUT a major injury, we can trust T to play.

Glenn truly has been awesome.

I couldn't be more excited about the potential of our passing game when TO gets on the field.

Awesome!! Your best yet, imo, Otero1!

This spring Tuna referred to Terry as a 'porsche' - STEALING my years-long analogy to him! ;)

I'd love to see a signature with that racecar in it sometime.

See, I knew you'd like this thread! I really do admire the guy--particularly how he matured mentally so much. He comes here & the only time we hear about him is when he's making yet another circus catch on the field (or when Parcells yells at him during TC!). Otherwise, not boo or peep from him.

(Now if only a certain other WR could grow up a little bit. Meanwhile, I'm secretly wishing we give the Pats a 1st rounder for Branch, & then cut TO. I think Branch & Glenn, along with our other youngsters, would be a great mix.)

I don't know.

Some guys are just more susceptible to major injury.

Glenn hasn't played too many full seasons if I remember correctly. TO is the same way. Plus, I can see a contest of wills between him and Parcells. We all know that Parcells will not play TO if he doesn't practice. TO won't practice unless he's 100%......

I don't think we'll be able to rely on TO. And Glenn's injury history makes me sit on eggshells every time he touches the ball.

Sorry, but that's the way I feel.

I love Glenn's game....I just wish his body would hold up better.

My sig will be up for adoption soon. Making one of my HS FB team for me. So you can use that TG one when I get my HS one finished.

hmmm, a while back i posted that I thought TG was "one of the most underrated WRs in the league," "probably a top 12 WR in the league" and that with TO our WR corps "was pretty comparable to the Colts WR corps" and I got blasted for about 12 pages in a thread.
