Over the last week, many of us here on the Zone have heard something like this a number of times: “If you don’t like how the Cowboys are run, just go to another team. It’s Jerry’s right as owner to do whatever he wants, and if you don’t like it, leave”. I would like to address this idea.

What is often overlooked in this genre of response to our frustration is that people are not fans of a team for logical reasons. We are not choosing our football team like we would if we were buying a commodity which is the same everywhere you get it. We are emotionally aligned with our team for a number of reasons.

I, and many of us here on the zone, follow the Cowboys because of what they represented in their past. At their best they are quintessentially American. For those of us from North Texas and the surrounding states, the Cowboys are also part of our culture.

My grandmother who lives in the tiny Oklahoma town where Troy Aikman was raised brought me to the Dallas Cowboys. It is quite simply a part of me. I cannot just up and leave and neither can most of us here. The Cowboys are family for many of us and preserve the memories of those long gone who also rode with the star. I’m sure many here have similar stories.

So no, we cannot just go find another team.

What they have become and how this organization is managed is nothing we can be proud to associate with. What it has come to represent in its modern form is disgusting. It is deeply painful to see the franchise we love and its storied history be cheapened and erased by decades of nothing short of a circus directed by a man who cares for nothing but himself.

Do you understand now?

This happens most when we are critical of just 1 player. Everyone else on roster is fair game, but hell hath no fury if you say anything negative about this 1 particular player. He's incapable of EVER doing anything wrong.

I'm not reading it but I'm saying if you're gonna use the same narrative that you hate the last 28 years and you bring up the same narrative and you basically go copy and paste the same thing in every thread it's the same response from a few people in here maybe 10 or 15 it's nothing but nothing but negativity they hate everything about the team from top to bottom why wouldn't some of our responses go find another team it shouldn't be the response to every negative thing said but there are some people in here that I feel like I'm dealing with Philadelphia eagle fans or I'm dealing with New York giant fans I'm dealing with the enemy the fans from other teams and yet we're supposed to be a group and be a fan of the Dallas Cowboys if you hate everything about them and you have for 20 years then you should no longer be a fan that's my point it's not about saying something negative or saying something that's true it's saying the same damn thing every time that you hate everything about the team you hate everyone's contract you hate everyone's players you hate the front office and ownership from top to bottom you even hate the people that report everybody hate everything about the team why are you a fan yes the question will be raised and I will occasionally say that you should find another team if that's everything about the team 24/7 365 and every damn response is all negative if you're 100% negative you're not a fan if you're 100% against the Cowboys you're not a fan

do you understand now some of us who are real fans can say negative things occasionally we say real things that are broke or wrong with this team but we don't constantly in every thread post the same thing there are people that post the exact same response about the 28 year narrative or about Jerry Jones and the circus they say the same comments in every thread every time yes those people please find another team delete your account and move on your life will be better for it and so will mine

do you understand now?lol

The Saints, Browns, Bengals, and Dolphins could use some fans.

And like clockwork, the peanut gallery has arrived.
You're saying that you can't accept criticism of your posts but we have to accept yours that's not the peanut gallery I was speaking the truth I do not go around on every single thread that someone says something negative about the Cowboys and say go find another team there's the ones that you know who they are that do nothing but criticize the team 24 hours a day seven days a week 365 days a year around here I don't even know why they come on here they never have a single good thing to say that is not a fan it's OK to be upset and disappointed and say so it's OK to criticize things that are obvious which by the way some are obvious but some of us get tired of coming in here the same people hoping we lose hoping for defeats wishing we would take and they hope so because they hate the front office and then they forget fans no fan wishes for losses that's my number one rule if you say I hope we lose then I will come out here and tell you to look for another team if I notice you're a troll and that's all you do is post negative things I'm gonna tell you to go look for another team..

You can go read all my posts tell me how many times I've said that this year? I'm not one of those guys that will say it anytime I see something negative but I say it to those who deserve it and I'm actually being honest... I just wanna make sure you understand you you don't get to be negative about the team and say things that you think you need to say but then when we come criticize what you say you don't accept our criticism so it's OK for you to criticize the team but you don't wanna be criticized for it?

Hmmmmmmm, who is not accepting of other members posts? Only one side of this argument is constantly told to 'accept my opinion or go find another team'.

But if you know Jerry Jones in his front office and even if Jerry leaves if he passes away retires and the Jones family keep this just like the Raiders nothing will ever change so keep bringing it all up on a daily basis how upset you are at the way Jerry Jones runs things and how it's the same every year how nothing's changed in 28 years if you know for the next 28 years it's gonna be the same why keep saying it it's obvious to all of us and it's probably gonna stay like this hardcore fans have to just accept it.

It's 100% acceptable I have a debate if you see something negative or wrong with the team to go ahead and say it the problem here is all those that copy and paste standard answers it's all hate it's 100% negativity all the time they don't sound like fans and I don't tired of hearing it so those people do get that response from me nothing will change so why keep bringing up how much the stain you have for the front office and yet you feel obligated 'cause you're a long time fan to stay a fan yes all true we have no choice is Dallas Cowboys fans we will always cheer for the star we will always cheer for the team but there are some people here that are cheering for losses that hope we lose they wanna see Jerry suffer I don't wanna hear about that I don't wanna hear about 28 years that you had to deal with nonsense because you stuck around it's like being in a disruptive or abusive relationship or marriage and staying in it and all you do is complain to your friends and family how bad it is but you never do anything about it..

Yes most of us have a passion for the Dallas Cowboys and we have no choice but to be fans we will always be fans but those fans that get that response from me are not the people criticizing the team if it's a rational debate but there are some people that's all they do is spell negativity about the team that is not a fan if that's all you have to offer then most of us don't wanna hear it and we're gonna say go find another team.

They’re hot right now. I think they know that the debaucherous nature of the Jerry Jones Dallas Cowboys is laid bare for all to see now.

Time is up.
What do you mean somehow people just now realize this you mean all the people that been saying that we've put through 28 years of mediocrity that narrative that's been spewed for a decade now I've only been in this place since 2018 and that narrative has been floating around forever you think Jerry Jones is just now being exposed this is who he's always been in the Jones family will always run this team like this for the next 28 years so what's the point of keep bringing it up we all at least most of us have a deep passion for the Dallas Cowboys it's not a hobby we don't casually watch them so we have no choice but to follow the Dallas Cowboys and support and cheer on the team but we don't need every response from certain people to be how much they hate the front office..

We get it it's not perfect we know you hate it we don't need 75 threads and 250 of the same copy and paste responses from some certain people in certain crowds in here most of which I have on ignore constructive criticism and rational debate is OK criticizing the team but there are some that's not their intent their trolls and all they do is put down the team and hope for losses and hope Jerry gets his comeuppance.. I'm sorry but if you wish for this team to lose ever I'm gonna have that exact response go find another team because it be one thing to hate Jerry Jones but it's another thing to whisper a loss the hope for losing that will not fly..

The "go follow another team" is only done by someone throwing a little hissy fit like a little kid, nothing more.

Nah, I'll just stop watching Dallas I'm always a fan but I'm not wasting a Sunday watching this team get my blood pressure high and giving me Gerd attacks

I watch the Ravens and the Chiefs....after Green Bay and the off-season they wasn't serious about doing no winning
