In my humble case, hope for a competent coach. Like Shanny or Gruden. The rest, including spagnuolo and capers, have been taken.

In your opinion, is there still time to get a new HC in Dallas?
Has the time passed?

Are we at the point of no return, and will we suffer Wade Phillips for one more year?

I think the plan always was for Wade to have 3 years (less only if he won a SB). So Wade gets one more year and Garret gets to prove that he is a better replacement than Shanahan, etc, this upcoming year. If they don't produce, then out they go and someone else gets the nod. TO may get the same treatment. I think a lot of changes are aimed at the uncapped year. Especially with the economy as it is now.

I do not Wade here as HC next season. He is too soft. I'm all for the "players" coach, and a coach who treats his players like men. But its just ridiculous with him. And if the rumor is true about JJ not allowing him to fine players more, then that is asinine as well.

That being said, the amount of negativity around here is out of control. We are more than capable of making some real noise with this team WITH Wade Phillips as head coach.

We had a bad season. Lets get on with it.

i think people think because wade isnt the dictator type of coach who demands respect that, thats a problem. but didnt dallas just get over a dictatorship? i dont remember these same problems not being around with parcells in dallas.

i just think dallas has a core of game-stupid, lazy players on the team. some that lack desire to put in the work to be a champion. and others who just dont grasp the game. and who is rsponsible for this brainfart? 90% of this team is parcells doing.

maybe dallas needs to clean house of the kinds of players who dont put in the time. and im not talking about guys who dont say the right things in interviews. that has nothing to do with the game.

hard workers, like james, barber, witten, leonard davis, kosier, ratliff, ware, keith davis, scandrick, thomas is what this team needs.

i can mention owens but the owens bashers would say im biased. he needs to be a cowboy because he brings energy. but he can be replaced.

IMO romo and owens would both be replaced by a coach like cowher

Yeah its too late. Wade for one more year, but he is history after that if he fails again.

I agree that Jerry is probably going to just stand pat until the 2010 cap year. If this team shows the same uninspired, undisciplined football next year then expect all coaches fired, almost all big contracts dumped like TO and Flozell, and look for another QB brought in to challenge and/or replace Romo.

Of course we will have the same GM so that endeavor will likely fail as well.

exactly. I'm not gonna be satisfied if Wade gives us one or two playoff wins next year. We talk Superbowl here in Dallas, nothing less. with all sincerity I highly doubt Wade is gonna take our Boyz' to the promised land also.

We probably wont suck, cuz we got sum good players. But it just seems we need to ''start'' over at head coach and removing some players also. and the 2009 season seems like we're just scribbling over our 2008 disaster.

No, because the guy Jerry would want is Mike Shanahan. However, the only way he is likely to get him is mid season. He's determined to take 2009 off, but could probably be persuaded if he is wi**** and misses the grind once it is gone.

I will say that I don't see a coaching change. Maybe a DC named soon.

I agree. And if you believe the newest rumor, Shanahan might end up going to Kansas City.

If we lose out on an opportunity for a coach like Shanahan just to keep Phillips who everyone knows has very little chance of success, it shows how shortsighted Jerry Jones is. That would leave one realistic option and that would be Mike Holmgren in 2010. I do not believe any of the other "names" would be interested in working in Dallas.
