If Treadwell slips to Dallas in the second round (which I doubt) I would love that especially if the team drafts a talented Franchise QB too.

Dallas would almost complete the new triplets by two-thirds in one draft. The only thing left would be to find a RB. And if a good RB is selected, this draft would set the team in a positive for years.

The more I watch of Treadwell, the more I'm coming around on him. The lack of speed still brings him down as a prospect, BUT he has good power after the catch and great hands. But he's just not top 10 talent, and certainly not top 5.

Let's see, Emmitt Smith, despite his NCAA career records and long TD runs, was considered too small and too slow....drafted #17 and 2nd RB taken.

Jerry Rice was considered just a good hands guy without speed, and he was drafted #16 and 3rd receiver in the draft.

Speed on the stopwatch is important to many in the NFL, but production on the field and how often guys get caught from behind is also very important. Treadwell won't be dropping to the second round, not with so many in the NFL having gone to all the short crossing routes and the idea of getting the ball in a playmaker's hands early rather than just running the fly patterns.

Treadwell will be a first round draft choice... People get too caught up in 40 times while overlooking the production on the field.

Rice ran a 4.59 according to Bill Walsh, so that's probably the best it could have been.
Emmitt ran 4.7 at the combine, but had run faster at other times...still considered slow on the watch by scouts, yet he had a lot of long TD runs at Florida and for Dallas.

Treadwell may very well drop if he runs poorly at the combine but he will not drop into the second.

The kid has too much talent to drop that far in my view.

If it's not the Cowboys....I hope someone in the NFC East doesn't draft him....

What's really ridiculous is that Barry Sanders was smaller than Emmitt Smith and he went #3 one year earlier...

Treadwell will not reach 20. No one with any sense believes he will.
This insider buzz was click bait trash.

He is the draft's only complete WR prospect.

Sturm has it nailed once again. Treadwell is a complete WR that requires double teams and abuses DBs.

Treadwell is my #1 guy at 4. We need offense more than anything and Treadwell will score points. He is the only one I see as a premier player

Fully expect the team to avoid QB until later (Hogan? Allen?) and sign Manziel.

What's really crazy is I don't see a lot of difference between Treadwell's ability and Amari Cooper's last year. I think Cooper was a slightly better athlete with slightly better route running abilities, but I think Treadwell is more aggressive catching the ball and a superior redzone target. There is no way Treadwell slips to the 20's unless he runs a 4.5+ 40 and maybe not even the.

Well, see, there is the guy named Jerry rice and this other guy we might know even better named Michael Irvin.....

Treadwell will run plenty fast and then he will go physically take the ball out of the air much like Dez and he'll seem really fast as he runs away from guys he left on the ground.

Treadwell is a complete WR and there are maybe 15 in this entire league.
Any scout that knocks him is a complete idiot.

I think his physical ability is what's going to make him tough. He can fight off the DB and pluck the ball. Hands are like stick'em. A slow 40 time would hurt his stock, but he's not going to fall far because his game is built more around his ability to catch whatever is thrown his way.

To be fair here, I am not sure I'd take Treadwell at 4.
I just think he is in that discussion... and the agenda nonsense needs to stop so we can have intelligent football discussions.

I think QB/Jack/Bosa/Ramsay/Treadwell/trade down ... should all be considered.

IF the pick is Treadwell there's a lot to like. Playing cover 1 and rolling to Dez becomes much harder.
Playing 8 and 9 man boxes much harder to do.

I honestly think you'd get a better boost to the running game by adding Treadwell then by adding Elliot.
Treadwell is a monster to cover and he is this draft's best blocking WR by far.
In the SEC with DBs that take pride in stuffing the run be crushed them guys weekly.

... but regardless of all that the guy is definitely not falling to the end of the round unless he gets injured or commits some crime.

The top 5 NFL WRs by yardage are all over the map for speed.
4.6x for Rice, 4.3 for TO, 4.29 for Moss, 4.5 for Tim Brown, 4.53 for Isaac Bruce. Our own Irvin was a high 4.5 or 4.6 guy.

YET ALL were considered speed players in that they took catches and scored.
Body control, leaping ability, hands and getting off the line quickly are far more important than 40 speed.

The NFL has largely begun to ignore 40 speed and focus on 10 yard speed at most positions.

How many guys get free releases and allowed to run 40 yards without pads or helmet?

It's incredible that Rice ran a 4.6, he did not look slow. I'm assuming due to his body strength with pads on, he probably maintained the same speed while others lost speed with pads and helmets on, what do you think?
