Instagram: Dez Post Signals Return

I don't understand the boards seeming preoccupation with the WR position. Until Dak proves that he can deliver the football more than 10 yards down field with accuracy , what does it matter? Every single pass catcher we had in 2017 had a down year. In the NFL it is rare and usually the result of a defensive breakdown when a wr in so open that a QB has time to see him, plant, and throw. Qb's have to anticipate WRs coming open and throw the ball to spots on the field. Norv Turner had to explain to Aikman what "NFL open" looks like. Someone needs to have that convo with Dak or its not going to matter who we have outside.

Well since defenses are apparently so afraid of Zeke that they have to stack the box with 9 defenders and Dez commands double coverage every play, it should leave Witten, Beasley, and Williams wide open.

That was the theory last season.

Lets go Dez!!! Also please for the love of all that is holly stop carrying the ball like a loaf of bread.

I don’t know something just feels weird to me I can’t put my finger on it. Stephen Jones has been very cryptic about Dez’s status and you can see through the draft process and the news about Sammy Watkins yesterday that there is a concerted effort to make a change there.

I may very well be wrong but I can’t shake the suspicion that Dez is in play here

They had intentions to try and go in another direction but the market nixed all of those thoughts. I bet you don’t hear another word about Dez that isn’t glowing praise from Stephen going forward.

That's definitely what it looks like to me.

Take a look at what some "disappointments" and "never was" receivers got paid yesterday. Truly ridiculous.

Specifically, Sammy Watkins and Paul Richardson. Watkins is getting $16 million a year and has never come close to Bryant-level production, and Richardson got $20 million guaranteed? Terreance Williams is an absolute steal compared to that.

Based on yesterday's insanity, our receiving group looks much better today.

And if you have any intention of winning anything in 2018, and getting a fair evaluation of your team and coaches, you can't cut Dez Bryant at this point.

Seriously. Dallas kicked the tires on Watkins, but there was no way they'd sign him for anything CLOSE to $16 mill a year. He makes more than Bryant now and hes often injured.

Sammy Watkins Chiefs $48,000,000
$16,000,000/avg
$30,000,000/guaranteed

It's Goodell and the NFL! They're allowing opponents to play with 13 men on defense!

Too bad Dez isn't the WR getting doubled.

Well good. Now go out and work on your craft and learn some new routes. Also, go get a sports psychologist so you won't have any more mental lapses and drop the ball etc. get on the phone and call Dak today and start playing catch daily.

I was all aboard the Dump Dez train last week, but yesterday's activity that basically took all the vet WRs off the market was pretty sobering.

It would be monumentally stupid for the Cowboys to move on now without a quality replacement.

And no, a rookie just won't cut it. It would be a disaster.

If we were looking at Watkins as a potential replacement, then I won't be surprised if we draft a WR in the first round and then cut ties with Dez. Not saying it's a good idea.

Yup, except defenses didn't stack the box as often as people believed and Dez wasn't doubled as much as people believed.
Dez was doubled every play vs the Raiders with the exception of the deep ball he caught. That shows ypu that dc still respect him.

Even worse, it could be used as yet another excuse to keep Garrett and this staff around past this year.

"Well, without a true #1 receiver, how could we possibly evaluate the job that Jason and his staff did on offense?"

Awesome. Looking forward to hearing about this being the year he learns how to run routes. Looking forward to hearing how great he looks in camp. Looking forward to 65 catches and 800 yards. Lots of drops. Lots of sideline drama. Couple missed games due to a variety of injuries. All for $14MM. A bargain.
