Interest in TE Tyler Eifert?

Three TE’s made of glass sounds flashy, I’m just glad we have Rico and Schultz back there...

Cheap option and red zone beast, WHEN he's healthy......

This was his 2018 one year contract with Bengals

Tyler Eifert signed a 1 year, $5,500,000 contract with the Cincinnati Bengals, including a $3,000,000 signing bonus, $3,000,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $5,500,000. When he is healthy?
Um, no, ruffian.

The thing about freak injuries is that by definition, they don't regularly occur.

Eifert's literally missed more games than he's played. That's not freak injuries, that's just a dude who's body isn't built to withstand an NFL-level beating.

Super talented dude and a TD scoring machine whenever he's healthy, but at this point, you can't count on him for anything.

I like him as a vet option that can be in the mix with Jarwin and Schultz for a role. He can definitely improve our red zone game and would immediately be the best pass catching TE on the roster.

Would allow us some flex in the draft and not have to go TE early either. Time to move on from Swaim and Rico.

On a one year vet min, sure. I am still very open to drafting a TE if I can get Sternberger or Nauta.

What about Jesse James from the Steelers

Eifert is elite at 6-6-255, 4.65 40 yd time, 35 1/2 vertical, and his short shuttle and cone is WR elite. So basically you can not coach what God gave him. He is also a very good in line blocker. Basically he is an injury prone Jason Witten. The seasons he completed was all rookie TE 2013 and Pro Bowler 2015. He was hurt in the 2015 Pro Bowl which is why the 2016 season was lost.

If we are not going to resign Swain, and move on from Gathers, then Eifert is worth the signing because he is better than anyone on our roster...when healthy. Emphasis on the word "when".

Eifert's brother in law is Zach Martin. That's the Cowboys connection

What about Jesse James from the Steelers

Just read a tweet couple days ago from Steeler's GM that they have every intention of resigning him. So I seriously doubt he'll become a free agent, especially considering their offense has lost two All-Pro players.

He'll be back at some point during the season, but we'll slide Martin over to LG to give Peters a little help in his waning year(s).

Peters - Martin - Kelce - Brooks - Johnson

I genuinely think Martin will be a HoF lock before he hits 30. Deal!
So Carson Wentz would have all day to throw, but nobody to throw to. Still want to do it?
