Interest in TE Tyler Eifert?

All fans want another Witten but they are few and far between. Eifert's latest post and videos show that he is healthy and wanting to play.

I doubt Dallas resign Swaim and betting they keep Jarwin, Schultz and Gathers whether we think they should or not. At the very least Gathers goes to training camp.

Could sign Eifert to a heavy incentive contract which would include games played. A contract for 1 million plus incentives sounds about right for one year with team option for 2.

Then draft a guy like Kaden Smith who has a huge catch radius, good blocker, good seam runner, and very good route runner. He also knows how to help his QB. A huge catch radius is sort of a must for Dak, IMO.

short answer: no.

longer answer: you'd love him for cheap but I am not paying him any real money as even if he does hit it is a 1 year hit. guys older and injury prone.
more interested in adding swain back if affordable after he showed good rapport with dak before the injury.

so...he's a better Geoff Swaim.

pass.

draft one or pursue Jesse James,Steelers.
he's 1.5 years older and earned 5.5m last year, swaim has earned 2.2m ever
unless he wants to really take a make good deal than no thanks is right.

I wanted to see Cameron Brate available, figured it was an easy cut for TB since they drafted OJ Howard, but then they go and extend Brate for whatever reason, I don't know, but I digress...
So the TE FA pool is shallow, very shallow, tad pole shallow.
The only name that kind of sparks my interest is Ricky Seals-Jones.
ERFA with the cardinals, a franchise that has never utilized or prioritized the position, but different coaching now,, wonder what it would take to wedge him off their roster since he is an ERFA and not a URFA.
He would be someone I would look at closely.

Nope. I’d spend my free agent dollars on ET or Collins and our own guys. TE and the rest would be draft targets. I might look at a free agent DT if the price was right. If not DT and TE are my 2nd and 3rd picks in any order.

Cheap option and red zone beast, WHEN he's healthy......

This was his 2018 one year contract with Bengals

Give him a 1 yr 3mil deal fully guranteed with game 250k bonuses. Which could turn into a 7mil deal. And then go from there

Actually, there are few decent free agents ( Cook, James, and Ebron ) out there that would certainly offer an immediate upgrade but how much are you willing to spend?

Just came across this.....

GERALD MCCOYDL, TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS

The Tampa Bay Times' Rick Stroud reports the Bucs are expected to keep DT Gerald McCoy in 2019.
Set to make $13 million under a new staff in 2019, McCoy peculiarly sent a tweet saying "embrace change, even when the change slaps you in the face" back in January. Although that led to speculation the 31-year-old would be released, Stroud writes McCoy will be back and asked to transition to defensive end part of the time when the Bucs use their 3-4 alignment. Cameron Brate and DeSean Jackson are among the possible casualties if the franchise does in fact keep McCoy's salary on the books this upcoming season.

That’s actually a fair statement. Eifert is the Sean Lee of TEs.
Highly productive when on the field, but he's missed more games than he's played in through six years. Couldn't tell if they were talking about Lee or Eifert.

Cameron Brate only has 7mil in guranteed base salary remaining on his deal. Would be real easy for the bucs to trade brate this offseason if they wanted to. Dallas tried to trade for him.

Did we? First time hearing it.....
If this is true, all other bets are off, he's the upgrade. Can certainly see Stephen calling the Bucs again.... the question is how much to give up? ( 3rd? 4th? )

Ugh! I would hate that!

Good player but people complain about Lee and LED has been super healthy compared to him
When healthy he can play but he may have the worst injury history I’ve seen
