Who, in your opinion, was the worst Dallas Cowboy ever?

To qualify, the player had to have spent at least 1 year on the roster, and despite their "talent", was a starter . . .

Anyone have any names?

Quincy caused more trouble than any other player I can think of.

He wasted a 2nd round draft pick.

Because Jerry insisted, we passed on drafting Leftwich or any other QB for two years.

We pencilled Vinny in as a backup, but because of the drugs (alledgedly?) he wound up the starter.

Most of all the endless raging internet debates have crippled servers everywhere.

Hutch gets honorable mention for messing up any chance of even developing Quincy properly (if that would have mattered) in the first place.

*edit* double honorable mention to Joey Galloway for being the worst conceivable waste of 2 #1 draft picks remotely fathomable. Although I don't blame him for it.

Quincy Carter.

Not that he is the least talented player ever for the team; nor that he is necessarily the least productive player. He wasn't very good, and his numbers weren't that good. But that's not the reason.

The reason is because in addition to his bad play, he totally damaged this team and caused massive disharmony with the Cowboys faithful. His behavior within the team was disruptive. Yelling at the owner. Yelling at the coaches. Crying to the coaches. Getting busted for drugs. Trying to pit players against the coaches and get players to back him. And in the media, he played up the issue that he wasn't liked because of his race which caused discord among the fanbase.

He set this franchise back three years of development as the team wasted time and a 2nd round pick on someone who wasn't skilled, and his behavior caused even more damage.

So overall, I'd say he is the most regrettable player to ever have on the team, and thus would say he was the worst Dallas Cowboy.

for what we gave up for this guy I'd have to say Galloway.

Besides Ellis, any of the DE's that we tried taking to replace Haley...not that they were THE WORST, but they sucked damn hard, especially for being 1st rounders.

Kareem Larrimore?

Sorry, but Edwards wasn't half bad.

Dick Van Raaphorst comes to mind, a rookie kicker we had back in 1964. If you think Jose Cortez was bad then you were too young to have seen this guy. He blew more last minute FGs than anyone I've ever seen. He directly cost us 4 games that year, keeping us from having our first winning season. He was cut in the lockerroom after the last game.

Marcellus Wiley is a more recent candidate for worst player more because of what we paid him than anything else.

Tony Dixon was the worst recent draft pick I can think of partly because he completely sucked and was a total reach but mostly because of who we passed on to get him, Shaun Rogers. We had some other horrible picks but most of them didn't start. Shante Carver is right there with Dixon.

I agree with the hit on run dude. Talk about giving the Cowboys a bad name, almost as bad as that panther that killed his girlfriend.

I think I'd go with Goodrich. Not a good player, and we don't have to discuss his off the field issues.

Pull up the draft history from '81 through '84 and the more recent drafts until a couple of years ago. Tons of worthless rookies.
