Too long and too much BS but he brought some valid points to the table. Leaving off Hicks was a major mistake but he's still a rookie. I predict he will be a problem at times but inconsistent.

I think Tony has a chance to break more records this year.

Sometimes you can find a silver dollar in a pile of horsecrap. I think his arguements for the most part are sound and reasonable- ceertainly much better supported then a lot of the drivel from the professional hacks.
His point about Roy is dead on. How you can say rookies will do better then a proven veteran is pathetic.
1 out of 7 rookie wrs do really well in their first season. NY and Philthy are counting on some to do that. Wrong.
I do think he really glossed over Felix but from a reception NUMBER standpoint he could be right. Just that the YPC for Felix could be really special.
His points about our TE's are dead on. As was his point about Santanna Moss= that guy does show up for only 6-7 games a year.

Remember the whole addition by subtraction thing? I tend to agree with the writer's article. When most analysts talk about receiving corps, they don't factor in TEs and RBs. None of the other NFC East WRs worry me. The only wildcard, IMO, is McNabb. He has a way of extending plays and making something happen.

But, when it comes to a complete receiving corps (WR, TE and RB), I think the Boys have the best out there. This isn't homer talk because I've been just at critical as I've been positive. But, I think a lot of people who picked us to be the 3rd or 4th best team in the NFC East will be eating crow by the end of the season.

If not, I gladly will.

Well, this barely counts as "praise" considering what the rest of the NFC East has to offer as far as wide receiveres go, which is nothing.

Odd that this division does have a decent group of QBs though,,,

I agree with his assessment HOWEVER, it still comes down to O-Line blocking and healthy lineman....

Who knows will be injured in 8 weeks....

Couple of good points but the fact that he's a homer makes it far less compelling of an argument.

But only a homer would understand that our receiving corp is the best in the East.

:laugh2:

If Dallas is tops in WR, it doesn't say much about the quality of the WRs in the NFC East.

Excellent read.

However, I firmly believe that at this point, the Eagles, Giants and Skins each have at least one WR that is better than any of ours.
So, thank goodness for our TE's. They surely raise our talent level in receiving.

I wish we had a T.O. or Westbrook, Moss and, yes, even a Hixson than our Nos. 1 and 2 WRs.
Imagine such a WR with our TEs and our running attack --- POW! Awesome attack.

We are one blue chip WR and one blue chip coach from going to the Super Bowl.

Better than reading it from someone with an east coast bias. 90% of the articles have that east coast bias.

based on past production, I think Moss is probably the top WR in the division... which again, doesn't say much about the division. we'll see what happens ...that's why they play the games :)

He's not comparing the WRs. He's looking at the passing game.

You can make just as good an arguement that Roy Williams is the best WR in the division. Moss has been spotty and inconsistant- what some claim about Roy. So saying Moss is the best is certainly argueably wrong.

Its true this division right now does not have a lot of top WRs. But then you look at the SB winners over the last 10 years and you will not find a lot of Top WRs there.

Just a footnote: it looks like Malcolm Kelly has won the #2 WR job, moving Randle El to the slot where I think he is more dangerous. I really hope that Kelly can stay healthy because watching him catch the ball is a beautiful thing.

How are Kelly's knees holding up?

He had microfracture surgery in the offseason. I've been traveling this past month, so I'm not completely up to date, but other than resting him for a few practices I think he's been out there practicing most of the time. He started the last preseason game last night - not sure how long he played. It seems like an issue that might rear its ugly head at any moment though.

I probably should have put #1 Passing Game rather than #1 Wide Receivers !!

I didn't find anything particularly "homer" about that article. It's obviously coming from a "pro-Cowboys" viewpoint but that does not make it incorrect in the slightest. I thought it was quite thorough and very well thought out. It also points to the waning credibility of so many "professional" football analysts that are kind of becoming marinated in their collective gossip as opposed to thoughtful journalism.

Being an ex-broadcaster myself, I used to kind of resent so many ex-players being ushered into the booths of national television and radio outlets associated with the NFL upon retiring. I mean Tiki Barber? Only in New York!

Nonetheless, the guys who played this game generally have a better idea of what's really going on in the NFL. Just try NFL Network for a few minutes in the unlikely event you haven't already. Frankly, I wish I could read a lot more articles like this one as opposed to the national blanket of chatter, primarily driven by the media itself, regarding Michael Vick, Brett Favre or Adam Jones of all people.

By the way, my spell checker hates the name Favre LOL!
