I realize this is a bleacher report article quoting Pro Football Focus stats, which are both dubious, but there's gotta be something to it, right?

According to this article, as of Oct 25th, Xavier Woods was rated the #2 DB on the Cowboys behind Lewis and Noah Brown was rated the #1 blocking WR in the NFL. I realize ranking Brown the #1 blocking WR in the NFL is kinda silly, but still, this must indicate he's pretty good at it. I like his potential. And Woods, in my mind, is going to end up being an excellent FS. Pretty good for 6th & 7th round picks!

Noah is Dez's replacement. I usually get a certain feeling about someone being the next star for us and it turns out to be true a lot of times. Last time I had it was when we signed David Irving, no lie.

I've watched highlights of NB and asked a few friends of mine who are Michigan and OSU faithful and I've gotten a pretty good response from both sides in regards to NB. " He's a beast "

* I'm very very high on Woods, he was one guy I really wanted us to draft *

Many had Woods going as high as a2nd or 3rd round pick at one point in time. I think many also would have thought in the 4th he would have been a bargain. I had him in one on my mock drafts as a steal in the 4th. Not sure why he dropped. Maybe teams drafting for need at that point.

I was pushing Brown for us to draft him since from the start, thought he would have went in the 3rd to 4th as well. Watched him throughout his career at Ohio State, but if not for a broken leg I think he could have been a 2nd rounder easily.

We may have stolen 2 very good future players.

I believe it was because of size that caused XW to drop. Probably didn't help that he played at LA Tech too.

I definitely get the feeling we're concealing Noah Brown.

Dude actually is a pretty nice route runner with Dez like abilities. Unless he's got rocks for brains, I just don't see why he doesn't have a chance at being successful.

In limited reps for Dallas, he's certainly performed admirably. The staff is likely biding their time for him to develop physically with some additional weight training. I'd be surprised if he doesn't make a serious bid for a starting spot by next season at the latest. He's not at all shy about being aggressive from what little I've seen of him with Dallas and his college tapes were nothing but impressive.

If Dez's ankle is not right maybe we get to see Brown catch a few this week.

I haven't fully developed an opinion on Woods, but I have a feeling he is going to be a polarizing player on this forum. He seems to be able to make a play and look great on a single play but he seems like he totally misses and whiffs on others. He also seems to have some bone head in him. I hope I'm wrong about the negatives, because what's good is good.

I think Brown is similar to Dez too. He is a beast just like Dez was but not polished, just like Dez is even after almost 10 years in the NFL. Hopefully he will home his craft and make Dez expendable.

One of Woods' positive qualities is he is a smart dude. A three-time first-team USA Conference All- Academic team member.

Yikes.

I think Brown will be a decent WR but this idea that he's the next Dez is fairly preposterous at this point. Dez was one of the most talented WRs to come out in some time and Brown simply doesn't have that cache. I suspect, if he were as talented as Dez and going to be the next Dez, that play would come out on the field. But he's running at the 6th WR for a reason.

My guess is he ceiling for Brown is a nice #2 WR.

Why in the world would we be "concealing" Brown? Are you planning to spring him as a surprise to the Eagles in two weeks or something?

Is Noah on the Rico Gathers plan?

Both players are great examples of what a full year in the system and another round of OTA's and training camp will do wonders for them. Just great scouting and draft picks.

Duh secret weapon surprise attack.

jk that's stupid.

I meant that there's his utility isn't the only thing that got him on the active roster.

He's not ready to take over for a larger role. He's not all that valuable to the game day roster at the moment, but you definitely don't want to dangle him on the practice squad.
