Bob said that what he was told was at halftime the Giants go in and the coaches and players talk about how TO isn't as explosive as they thought he might be. Players told them that he couldn't manhandle Webster or get by him cleanly. Same thing with Terry Glenn, that Glenn was having trouble on breaks.
So what do they do?.............................

The told thier CB's, "ok guys, we're going to pin our ears back and go after Romo with everything we have"..........."Its up to you Cb's to stay with your guys. If TO isn't 100% it shouldn't be too difficult".

Next thing you know there are 8-9 guys in the boxes and they are just blitzing the hell out of Romo (and you know what happened from there). It also nullified any of Barbers running ability with that many men in the box.

Game, set, match..............

I thought it was an interesting take, and I'm having trouble finding fault with it. Bob could be onto something.

My only question that haunts me late at night, is why after all those blitz's and jailbreaks, didn't we try at the very least 1 screen pass? We could have blown thier doors off if we had tried it.

Oops, mods, you may want to move this to the fanzone.....

Or maybe a draw or two to Julius.

Really interesting.

In which case, you perhaps pin this loss more on the unfortunate health status of our primary receivers.

But a strong adjustment by the Giants. Even so, we had our opportunities and should've won this game regardless of the pass rush. Certainly, it was effective and hurt our chances. But the game should've been another 4th quarter heroic victory had Crayton not slowed up on his vertical route.

Seems accurate. Remember that fade to TO in the endzone? He coudn't get off the DB at all. A healthy TO mandhandles that guy and grabs the ball.

It's unfortunate that our highly paid 3rd WR had to suck so bad too.

It was obvious to me that neither of our WRs were 'right" and I would have done the same thing in their shoes. No excuse, still a better team.

And Son Of Bum had our guys playing 15 yards off of One Legged Burress and old man Toomer. Difference in the game.

Smart move on their part. I think this is more an indictment on what we have at the position outside of our 30 something WR's. None of them could get open or make a play.

here is my problem with this...why didn't we work these guys back into the lineup gradually....why did we throw Hurd and Austin out as if they were trash...if Glenn who has not played all year and is coming off injury is that much better than AUstin and Hurd...then we need to cut both of them. THose two are big healthy and strong...why did we let TO and GLenn wear down...and when they did, why did we keep going to them. I don't recall us throwing Jacques Reeves to the bench when Henry was working his way back from injury....even though we should have

I saw TG fall at least twice on routes where he wasn't even touched - The guy looked like it was his first day walking on that bum knee. Add Crayton's sudden bout with Dropitis into the deal with TO's bum ankle and I can see why they decided to attack with everything they had.

Well, they weren't 15 yards off. And playing zone is not the problem. The problem is not having a CB smart enough to play zone.

IMHO, Hurd and Austin really aren't that good. If they were receivers on any other team in the league no one on this site would be talking about their upside or how they are "good young WR's". I don't see Hurd being in Dallas next season and Austin will probably, barring injury, never see time as a WR. Austin will be the KR and a good special teams guy.

Hurd will probably be released in camp. It's a talent thing and also the fact that Stanbach will be given every opportunity to knock him out, Dallas will most likely add another WR via the 1st day of the draft, free agency or trade, and Crayton just signed an extension. That would leave Hurd versus Austin. Austin is more valuable because of his ability on special teams. Maybe Dallas can get a 7th or conditional for Hurd but if not, he'll be sent packing.

Exactly.

The story does make sense.

Because Barber isn't that fast out the backfield, and the Giants linebackers were playing close to the line of scrimmage.

I remember Aikman remarking why the linebackers weren't back farther to protect against a Witten catch. The Cowboys weren't going to run the ball, he said, IIRC.

Yeah this coming from a Packers fan who cares less about the Cowboys getting knocked out of the playoffs. Yeah lets listen to him about our problems. The guy always uses reverse psychology on his analysis on the cowboys games it's insane. The sad thing about it pple actually believe him and fall into his lil trap when making a point.

Exactly, JJT said so himself in his DMN column today that he could have beaten Toomer in a footrace!

As Hostile said, no excuses. NY just outplayed the Cowboys in key situations.

All I know is Miles Austin was wide open on that pass play... He blew right by the receiver...

I was at the game. Glenn played only a handful of plays, but that is correct, he wasn't in the rythm. I don't know how great TO was - I didn't watch him nonstop, but I will say - there were open receivers out there today. They weren't wide open, but they were open.

If we have dummies playing in the secondary who have no concept of how to play a zone...why don't they just go man-to-man and take there chances, particularly if they can double there wideouts??? I mean Wade told the PC that his guys weren't getting to the right spots on that last drive of the first half...well than HELLO.....maybe you should change it up a little?
