1) Oakland wide receiver Randy Moss to the New England Patriots for a first-round pick: New England already has two No. 1 picks, the second of which it acquired from Seattle for wide receiver Deion Branch. Take one and deal it to Oakland for the game's most talented wide receiver. If New England could get Corey Dillon to buy into being a Patriot, then it could do the same for Moss.
2) Oakland wide receiver Jerry Porter to Minnesota for a conditional third-round pick: The teams that are used to being involved in blockbuster receiver deals should pull off another. Porter has destroyed much of his value, but he's still worth a third-round pick that could climb to a second based on playing time.
3) San Diego running back Michael Turner to the Philadelphia Eagles for a second-round pick: Before Turner becomes a restricted free agent after this season, San Diego should get a second-round pick for him now. And Philadelphia should give it up. A back such as Turner could be the difference between a good season and a great one.
4) Seattle wide receiver Darrell Jackson to Kansas City for a second-round pick: The Chiefs are lacking quality wideouts and the Seahawks have a surplus of them. Plus, Seattle's future revolves around Branch and Nate Burleson, not Jackson. Might as well get a quality pick for a quality player who would be happier elsewhere.
5) Green Bay quarterback Brett Favre for Dallas quarterback Tony Romo and a third-round pick: This would be the equivalent of baseball teams trading a Hall of Famer for a quality young arm. And think how happy T.O. would be, getting to play with the quarterback he wanted to play with instead of Donovan McNabb.
Problem is, the Packers never will trade Favre. And these other trades aren't much more likely.
But just because they won't happen doesn't mean they don't make sense.

6. Dallas Cowboys third-year running back Julius Jones has rushed for 2,200 yards after 25 games. Tony Dorsett had 1,875 after 25 games, and Emmitt Smith had 1,766.

THIS ONE MADE ME LAUGH

17. During the offseason, Washington traded for wide receiver Brandon Lloyd and running back T.J. Duckett, and signed wide receiver Antwaan Randle El. Against the Giants last weekend, all were active and had a combined 10 yards from scrimmage.

Moss in NE would give them a huge advantage.

Why would we trade someone we've developed for three years, that Parcells likes and is getting "ready to play", for a HOFamer who is about to retire?

Five is just so asinine.

EXACTLY. only difference is Favre could move around, which in turn could be a better situation than now. But we'll never know, and i wont complain about it...:)

Umm Julius Jones is putting up some numbers when he's playing healthy! I put that very statistic up a while ago and no one wanted to believe me....

Moss is no longer worth a first rounder, plus he isn't the type of downfield blocker that Belichick would want. He also has work-ethic issues that wouldn't go over well.

Al Davis takes things personal with disgruntled players, see Marcus Allen. He is going to sit on Porter and make him as unhappy as possible.

Frankly, this would be a good trade and scares the living heck out of me. Philly has multiple draft picks and Turner the Burner is a way above average young back.

A second? :laugh2:

Plus Seattle was desperate for a quality WR. If Darrell Jackson is so good why did they make a move for Branch?

That is interesting, doubt it would ever happen, but interesting. Earlier in the year Favre's good friend said he would accept a trade to play for his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys...

Sometimes quality players get lost in the mix. Perspective-wise we are sitting on a gold mine with Julius if he stays healthy.

So, in effect it would be Deion Branch for Randy Moss due to the first rounder swaps. Talent wise the Patriots would hit the jackpot. The question is, what would they really expect to get from Moss?

The unfortunate part is that it has taken 36 games for Julius to play in 25 of them. His injuries have prevented anyone from getting a true evaluation of him. He can produce when healthy, but so far in only two full seasons, he has always been injured.

Through his first 25 possible games that could have been played he has 1226 yards. He missed several games in that stretch. Dorsett and Smith were not missng games like Julius and if you look at their totals after 36 games, they will have more yards.

It does matter and that is why Julius production does not stand out when compared to them. A back or any player has to be there every game.

I was never a big fan of Eddie George, but I can really appreciate the fact that he played in every game for the Oilers/Titans. He may not give you huge games, but he was there every Sunday to provide about 78 yards. Julius will be there to give you good numbers when he plays and zero yards when he is out.

The truly great ones like Brown, Payton and Smith not only provided the big numbers, but they rarely missed any games. Jim Brown never missed a game. Walter Payton missed 1 game. Emmitt Smith only missed 7 games while in Dallas. Julius has already missed more than those three combined.

Hopefully, Julius can avoid the injury bug. I like him and think he can be a very good back in the NFL. He does produce solid games and can also provide the big games as well. He is needed every Sunday.

The same thing can be said about Kurt Warner. He recently was compared to Dan Marino because he reached 20,000 yards in one fewer game; however, it has taken him more years to do it because he misses so many games each season due to injury.

I agree. Turner is a good back. He could be scary in Philly. San Diego would probably ask for a defensive back instead of a draft pick. Their secondary is their weak link. If they shore that up, their defense could dominate.

What's funny is that if NE traded for Moss it would immediately be considered a great, brilliant move by Belichick for bringing in one of the game's premier WR's.

Perspective is often skewed when a playoff team that has recently won it all makes a move compared to a team that is still trying to make it to the post season.

That's interesting. I'd take him in a heartbeat, but I'd rather trade Bledsoe than Romo to get him.

Oh, and I love the playmakers in Washington blurb.

TJ "I'm No Gerald Riggs" Duckett was sure worth 2 picks.

If Dallas is Favre's favorite team why did he re-sign with GB? Why didn't he test the waters and lobby for the QB job in Big D? If that were me that's what I would do.
