I used to have yahoo dsl but it was always up and down. Then I switched to Road Runner which is cable from Time Warner. I pay $45.76/month because I don't have cable tv, I got Direc tv. Well that's too dang much money for a service that goes out all the time, I guess they all do.

Here's my question:

Does anybody use the wireless service that works in almost any major city? Verizon is one of the providers, you got T-mobile, and some other wi-fi's.

Any recommendations??

Verizon DSL here, was always a bit quirky until they installed a homerun outside the house, now it's very reliable.

I haven't tried the wireless route yet.

Look up your zip code and see what people there have to say about the services available.

Also has cool tools like a speed test so you can see how that new DSL line is performing.

I have had TW/Comcast cable for almost 10 yrs and have had great service. In those ten years I have only had two equipement failures.

I know that doesn't help you but just adding my $.02

Really? Wow, when I had Comcast it was an everyday thing that I had to fix something with their stuff. Then they had outtages in my area all the time as well. Very poor service.

We've had the same experience with Comcast in the past 2-3 years.

On the other hand, when I had Verizon DSL, I had outages maybe twice in 4-5 years. I much preferred them.

i'm thinking about going back to comcast, because my AT&T/Cingular/AT&T with Cingular/South Bell/ what ever they wanna be called now, is sucking, its always down, really really poor speeds too I pay for 3mb/s i get less then 1mb/s its a damn shame too

I use to have issues with Comcast going down about 6 months ago because they were doing major upgrades to their system. Seemed like every other day it was down for an hour or 2. Since they have completed the upgrades my connection has been rock solid and extremely fast.

Well it just recently switched to Comcast from Time Warner so I don't know if that had anything to do with it.
