Listening to the Cincy sports radio, the fans cant wait to get rid of Trey Hendrickson. They are tired of him being hurt, too old and he wants to much money. Trey will be 32yr old, played only 7games last year due to a hip/pelvis injury and will command anywhere from $25-$30Mil a year. Is he worth GP3 money or can Jerry use that money to sign Clowney and fix the LB corp or backfield.

Personally, I would not sign Hendrickson unless I can get him for the right price, instead I would focus on Bosa and/or Clowney and fix the LB corps. I dont think one player can fix this defense....it's gonna take a village

25mil-30, with guarantees that end in year 2? Sure. The top ones are in the 40mil range.

35mil-40mil? Nope.

You want a pass rusher, he was a top sack producer before his injury(which wasn't an ACL/achilles/bad leg break).

The Saints barely played him, which IMO, was due to trading up for Davenport and wanting him to get snaps.
He really only played heavily his 4th year.
So, while he is 32, it's not 9 full NFL years of wear and tear.
He had 4 sacks in 7 games before shutting down due to injury.

The man wanted another long term commitment from the Bengals, but never pouted on a training table or missed games like Bell.

He has 74.5 sacks his last 87 games-since his 4th year with the Saints.
Would cost no assets to trade for.

Edit: If Jerry truly wanted to win before he retires aka dies, he should go all in short term with his boy Dak. Keep Pickens, sign an edge rusher among other players.
They can play with cap numbers to go "all in" for 2026 and 2027 before a reset.
Enough of hanging around the rim and go for the dunk. If you missed at least you tried.

Hendrickson is not but the Cowboys will have to take chances on players like him in free agency if you want the defense to improve. A defensive end room of Hendrickson, Clowney, and EZ would look nice with our defensive tackles. Then you can draft linebacker and a secondary player with your first two picks.

Those are good points but your starting DE opposite EZ has to be a good run stopper and he is not so maybe pass

no, maybe for a two year contract....if your team is ready.....Seahawks spent on Lawrence and their defenses had a lot of pieces in place. hendrickson at 32, is a final piece of the puzzle. not the first piece of the puzzle.

Not me. Edge free agency is so lacking this year. Sucks for us

This is how it needs to be viewed, and not just in terms of pure annual average. The number of years and guaranteed money are way more important. If you can get him at 3 years / $75M with $40m guaranteed he really wont kill your cap too bad and you should have a very clean out after year 2 if needed.

Way I see it Hendrickson would be our RDE, as that's the position he was with the Bengals.
Dallas did kick the tires at the TDL, so I think there is interest in him, but I'm sure with a honest offer.
Trying to recall the snap counts for EZE this year and if they rotated him but honestly I was checked out for those details to end the year.
Felt like EZE was better vs the run than expected, so maybe he could continue to develop towards a D-Law type edge-hopefully without the want to sell merch.

We need young players to build around. I don’t think we’re not an aging edge away from a deep playoff run.
