Losing the Cardinal game may end up being the final nail in the playoff carton.
The Cowboys will now need to go on a serious run just to make the Playoffs as a Wild Card.
It also muted the enthusiasm generated from the Trade acquisitions because it seems that they are too little too late to help this season.
Who knows, we may get close to getting in the playoffs but the losses to Car, Chi, and Arz may be too hard to overcome.

Maybe other years there would be hope but I still think we have major secondary issues and now some O issues and there are too many teams to jump. I think .500 with the remaining schedule is a lot to ask and that isn't close to enough

Yup so let's draft a cb that's injured in 26

Yes. At 3-5-1 and with 4 conference losses - 2 of them to teams fighting for wild cards in bears and panthers, we are the11th seed in a 16 team conference.

Realistically this team will have to win 7 of their last 8 to have a shot to make the playoffs. Against the toughest part of our schedule.

To me, the rest of 2025 will be about looking at which players to keep for 2026, finding chemistry on the defense and making decisions about what kind of team we want to be in the future.

We lost 2025 season when our FO dragged their feet on what to do with Parsons.

weird season, dysfunctional, and chaotic. but you absolutely can't lose to the panthers, cardinals, and bears the way they did and expect to go anywhere. at this point i think it's worth bottoming out. they will have a very nice starting point next season

3rd NFC loss outside the division with NFC opponents outside the division Det and Minn still left to play.
Philly, Wash and NYG still left to play again in the division.
Dallas is on the wrong side of most all tie breaker scenarios for a wildcard spot.

The only path to the playoffs is as a division winner.
That would require a highly improbable winning streak.

Highly improbable.

Not nice to state but it would basically require a season ending injury to Hurts for the Cowboys to reach the play offs as it would only happen through being the division winner.

Even before the Cardinal loss the odds were not looking great. Right now you're 3 wins back of Philly for the division, 2 back of the 2WC but with 4 teams to pass. Statistically you're looking at single digit odds to make the playoffs. The most likely scenario almost looks to be a total collapse by the Eagles.

Even if everything goes right and Philly loses the next three games you still have to beat KC and then win @detroit to take over 1st place.

They have to go 7-1 to make the playoffs. It is not happening especially the way they are playing, but even the best team in the NFL would have slim chances at going 7-1.

and would require the Birds to collapse
one could happen but very unlikely both will; that would be a lottery win

You can tell those who think participation trophies are all that you need by those thinking getting to the playoffs with this bad a team means something

The Cowboys going to the playoffs in 2025 is the longest of long shots now. Sure I could happen but the odds are really long now. The tie to the Packers could be the only thing that leaves the door open a tiny crack imo.
