yeah a deal was reached today. I work for Fox and got the email today with all the details of the settlement. Time Warner acted really stupid during this whole negotiation and were trying to low ball the hell out of Fox while they pay networks like TNT (Who have a fraction of the viewer ship as Fox) the amount Fox was asking for.

Time Warner has never had any brains. None of the cable providers do.

I honestly wish nothing but the worst for them. (cable) They had it made for basically two decades or so and ruined it with painfully awful service, ridiculous rate increases and poor technology.

I have DirecTV and have for more than a decade. The weather used to knock out the signal some, but in the last 12-18 months or so whatever they have done to their technology has made a VAST difference in this. Not only does it rarely go out any, when it does it usually lasts for only a minimal time. And I live in Atlanta, where thundershowers/storms are almost a year round issue.

I am having Direct TV installed Monday. When I heard about this Time Warner BS I called Direct TV. Every year we lose more cable stations on Time Warner yet they still keep jacking up the price. I have always had extended basic cable because I have never wanted to use a "box" for tuning my TV. Time Warner has pushed me to the point where I am ready to make the move even if I do need a "box". I will finally get more use out my high def TV as the only high def I have had has been Blue Ray disc.:)

You'll love it. They support 1080p now.
