Is Dak an elite Top 5 Quarterback?

This leaves the following teams:

Dolphins
Steelers
Colts
Panthers
Falcons
Rams
I don't envision any of those teams trading for the bloated contract of Prescott. He doesn't bring enough difference to any organization to warrant them trading for him.

Imagine comparing the chaos in Detroit with Stafford and their horrible OL with what Dak has had his whole career here, including playing in the NFC East. Stafford basically went to a team that Dak has been on his whole career and won a SB within seconds. Dak had 3 all-pro lineman, who played multiple years together, the first half of his career with Zeke commanding the most stacked boxes by far of any RB in the league.
You sure have a ton of excuses for other teams

I wrote down in a previous post in this thread what Dak has had at his disposal on offense and it genuinely surprised me! I forgot about how much talent he has been surrounded with especially on offense over the entirety of his career. He has had some good defenses as well, particularly at taking away the ball and giving him good starting positions for a few seasons. People do not want to here it but he has underachieved with the rosters he has had during his career.
Even this year, the really high usage of play actions with these 2 WRs and RB has give Dak so many man-to-man opportunities. That's why the slants were so effective the majority of the year.

Dak fanboys got all the excuses in the world, within this organization. Dak has proven he can't get it done on essentially the "Rams" of Stafford.

Stafford was drafted number 1 and expected to resurrect a franchise, and he proved his value immediately when he actually went to a good team and won a SB.

QBR has constantly been changing in terms of calculation, especially during Stafford's era onward. For example, it started taking into account YAC after around 2013. I'm not sure the exact date.

So it's competely pointless to even compare eras with these stats. In fact, it's completely pointless to compare them by years within the same era, unless one knows what the changes were.

Most stats are now being used for gambling, not actually reflecting a QBS performance, so they will find more and more ways to be "creative".

Statisticians know that you need to normalize data. Stats don't lie, but how one interprets them can be a lie or simply an example of people not knowing what they are talking about.
I can see how it could be useful for a team to assess their quarterback play using QBR against say the league average for quarterbacks in each category so they can assess where they could improve as an offense and if they think the quarterback is performing to his contract/value within the team setup.

But I fail to see how and why anyone would compare and rank quarterbacks playing on different teams with one another. There's simply no relevance.

You mean a Cowboys fan who thinks the QB is good?

You're weird.

I could see maybe Miami or the Colts but then if you are the Colts you will probably get Jones for around $30 million a year and he was playing very well this season. He will probably be good to go by September next year and his injury will shave off a few $$$.

I agree with you but just trying my best to be objective. Personally, I think any well run organisation would not entertain Dak Prescott's contract on a month of Sundays but I'm just trying to think if there's anyone dumb enough. I doubt they would pay him more than $50 million but a desperate bad team might give him what he wants...in which case he will just stay at the Cowboys (unfortunately).

Given the success of the Broncos, Patriots, Bears and as the season progresses, the Texans with young quarterbacks on rookie contracts surely teams like Miami etc will go down the same route in the draft rather than over pay a vet like Dak Prescott?

I think teams would be more interested in the Mayfield, Darnold, Jones vet type quarterbacks available for half the price of Dak Prescott.

The only two orgs I can see doing anything might be the Browns, Jets and yea maybe Miami if they are desperate enough.

Yet I get the impression Dak is deluded enough to think teams like the Rams would be interested in him! I could only see him moving to Miami for the lifestyle and money. Other than that from the teams I think would be interested in him, he will just stay in Dallas. So really the only way he will be off is if he gets injured badly again then the front office might decide enough is enough. Other than that he's probably here to stay for another 5 years which is a very depressing thought!

If he was good, he wouldn't be 2-5 in the playoffs and be absolute dog poo on the road... How many excuses have you guys recycled for wonder boy here? back to the DC, Eberflus, when he had the top tanked TO defense, what was it, 3 years running. Oh yeah, forgot about the OL too that also sucked even though Williams has rushed for over 1000 yards on close to 5 YPC and still 3 games left to go... oh and that whopping pressure of 24 sacks...

Team sport champ. And the run game was average at best. Stop making things up.

How is a QB who is ranked in the top 5 of every major statistical category not top 5:huh:

That is like saying a baseball player who leads the majors in home runs hit is not a top 5 hitter.

By definition, they have to be.............otherwise, its just all subjective and not based on any factual statistical measure. Somebody just "feels" they are not top 5 despite the statistics.
That's right.

Nothing I said was made up buddy...

2-5 in the playoffs...
Can't win on the road... beats up on horrible defenses
Horrible playing from behind.
The run game with Williams is around 5 YPC and over 1000 yards with 3 games left
Top ranked TO defense 2 years in a row, top 5 the next year
Best WR duo arguable in the league now

As soon as Stafford went to a good team, they won the SB.

facts>feelings

Did you say he would putting up top 3 production at his position, and be leading a top 3 offense despite having a bottom 3 defense most of the season?

Or did you say you knew he was going to lead us to victory past the Superbowl champions after we spotted them 21 points?

Cmon tell me, tell me!! The suspense is killing me!!
I said Dak will do what he has the last 10+ years. Earn some stats in the regular season and go nowhere.

Right again.
