Moore is what you get today in the back up QB market
There starting QB's that are only back up quality

Will McClay..........as stated, Dak will command a contract, Since QB is the hardest to replace, the key is to draft well and replace other positions as they hit the 2nd contract and the market drives them out of a manageable cap figure.............

Honestly...no player is worth that...

But here is the deal...Look What happens to your team if you soak that much money into one player..Saints prime example...Team fell apart. Lions....same deal...Couldn't afford to resign Suh. Team fell apart. I can very easily see this happening here. Too many high priced pieces...something will ahve to give...because you can't pay everyone. And let this sink in...Russell Wilson isn't just gonna settle. He knows he got short changed...and he's gonna wanna get paid for past , present/future services. Same thing is gonna happen here..
Thats the sad true. The Cowboys must win very soon. There is no way to keep this offense together. Some high end, under performing boys, need to go soon. The club needs a Defense but have sank too much, 3-1st rd picks, in the OL. Iam not complaining about the OL...But wasn't cheap and very soon some serious decisions must be made.

With the new deal Derek Carr just signed....he has set the new bar for QBs.

Question I have is...Is Prescott worth that kind of money?

Because you know if he has anything close to a season like he did last season...He's gonna want that kind of money....And probably sit out until he gets it.

IMO a deal like that....would be worse than the Tony Romo deal...And look at that debacle. A team on an up swing...and we can't do nothing in free agency to get us over the top...and let key people walk in free agency...because we just didn't have the money.

Comments?

Right now? NO but then Dallas is not in a position where they need to pay franchise money to Dak. I think Dak had a great rookie season and I am very optimistic about his future. I think he has the physical talent and the mental toughness to be a top QB but because we may think he can does not change the simple truth he has to go out and prove it. In my view being a franchise QB is all about stringing seasons together with great play if he does that Jerry will gladly fork over the cash

Who have the Cowboys lost in free agency since Romo's contract that they wanted to "KEEP"?

Every team loses players in free agency. Players ask for most of the time what their team deems to be too much.

we don't have to make that decision today. If he has another year like last year and leads the team to playoffs. yes. he is worth that much. we have three more years before we have to make the call.

I agree and hopefully Dallas can take advantage of that by adding talent on both sides of the ball while his pay is low.

You offer him 4/60m after 2018......100% guaranteed

then after 3 more great years you extend him early for 5/140m

Why?

When, if he stays as is and doesn't get any better, he can command at least 5 years at $20 per.... $60 guaranteed (by the time 2018) rolls around... he'll get salary per year plus guaranteed.

We all know it's really $25 per anyways

Isn't Rodgers up for a contract soon? May have to base it on his, unless Dak proves to be a one year wonder

It’s really naive, and I should have learned my lesson by now, but Dak strikes me as the type of guy who wouldn’t push to be “the highest paid”.

I think we will see a large contract that rewards him but doesn’t cripple us when it’s time.
