Is Dorial Green Beckham worth the headache?

I remember when we passed up Randy Moss for some of these same reasons, because of Mike! Does Dez ring a bell? Kid had problems too. randy and mike with troy could have kept us on top. Passing on him would be Moss II. If he's there where we feel he's worthy, you snatch him. He's rare period and we have enough of a support system to help him overcome his issues like we have with Dez, Ro, Brent and others.

Was watching some tape this weekend.....And thought the exact same thing. This kid is Randy Moss 2.0 talent wise. So you wonder if this kid was in a different enviroment if he would be ok?

Matt Miller said he had the worst off field problems he had seen

The more stuff I read from Miller..the more I realize the guy just writes stuff to see what will stick. He is not a very good talent evaluator. Some guys have a knack for it....most don't.

Simply can't take a WR early(1-4) unless the draft board absolutely SCREAMS to take one. You'd essentially be drafting at best a #4 WR on this team. If any offensive position is drafted early, it will be OL. Maybe RB depending on what happens with Murray. Otherwise it will be a draft heavy on D.

If you found a stud WR in the draft he wouldn't be a 4 on this team.

I can hear the screams already if the Cowboys went offense w/ their 1st pick. With that being said....In todays NFL the best defense is having an offense that doesn't come off the field.

I have often pondered if we had taken Moss if Irvin would have kept playing.....Maybe he doesn't get hurt...ect

Unless the Cowboys got a big name(s) on D in FA. Which is also unlikely since they have so many of their own FA to re-sign.

Other teams felt Dez Bryant's character concerns were significant too.

A guy like this I think it's just a case of the interview process. Talking to him, his coaches, his inner circle. Try to get a feel if he's one of the ones who will pan out like Dez or one of the many that aren't worth the trouble.

Worth the risk IMO. No guarantee that a D player picked with 27th pick will start, the slam dunk players available where Cowboys pick are on offense. That would be DGB, Gurley (if 100%) and Gordon.

With Marinelli at DC, picking an upgrade/starter on O may be the best and quickest way to get to the SB.

If Dez is franchised the idea of a long term deal gets a lot less likely

I would draft DGB if Dez isn't signed long term but I would try to trade back and pick up another 2nd or 3rd

That would provide great insurance for 2016 and IF Dez is signed long term, DGB can always be traded

It's not the choice I'd make. I'd be far to concerned with the loss of loads of playing time due to multiple stupid suspensions, just like Mr. Gordon in Cleveland.

That said if Dallas did draft him I'm not going to be jumping up and down screaming about how stupid they are and being all angry.

If they draft him I trust it's due to the fact that this staff believes they have the structure in place to keep the kid on the straight and narrow.

I would rather stick to the current philosphy and draft the RKG's, team leaders, captains etc etc why try and draft a bad apple?

egsactly. no matter how talented a bad-seed player is, he is just one night club fight away or one weapons charge away from missing the season.

Number one, why are we discussing WR so early in the draft, when this team has so many defensive holes, and needs at OT & RB? Number two, why are we discussing a WR at ANY pick who was investigated for shoving a young woman down several steps, & had multiple problems with pot? Josh Gordon, anyone? If we don't learn from history, no matter which teams' history, we are bound to repeat it. Dez will never be the sharpest tool in the shed, but he is a hard working, loyal teammate who doesn't get in trouble with the law, is not a diva, nor a thug. Let's do whatever it takes to keep him, Williams, etc. & focus on areas of the team that need shored up to take us to the next level. No more knuckleheads, for God's sake.

Patriots won't let him get out of the first.

Of all the combine performances, I am most interested in his.

Double covering Dez could be a thing of the past with this guy on the other side.

Ideally we take a stud defensive end like Dupree. However, there may not be anyone there who is worthy of a pick. If the Cowboys are comfortable with this kid, I have no problem with them picking him. Green Bay is loaded with receivers every year. Dez + 6'5 237 lb 4.5 monster+great offensive line=less 8 and 9 man fronts and more explosive offensive.

The possible pushing of a young woman down the stairs is awful, but we really don't know what happened as the woman did not cooperate.

As far as the two pot charges go, who the hell cares about pot? What an absolute joke.

The NFL cares, which means you should. He can't help anybody if he's not on the field.
