No, not yet. But it could happen if and when the players realize he is not the man they think he is, coach wise. He has an excuse now with injuries and suspensions. I think the players will buy into it.

You guys asking for a new coach, why? and who would you get that is better? Nothing is wrong with the coach we have, the DC may be past his time in the NFL that does happen. Some of the players we need to finish flushing out, like a scandrick, Green and stop picking up retreads players, and stop playing players out of position

I want this team to implode ... that's the only hope for a coaching change. Also, if there is a benefit from a Zeke suspension is that this team implodes and we end up with a top 10 pick ... then make the NFL pay by taking the best D player available and start signing some A+ FA and win a chariots and Brady missed their chance.

if he is such a terrible coach and person why would former players want to come help his staff. Columbo, lett, austin, gurode.

if they thought he was so incompetent they would never put in the time and get involved with a bona fide loser who is in over his head.

Hell no!! He is a great coach!! You will not win if your backup LT cannot block a backup DE and your Defense cannot seem to function with out their Top LB!! The hold organization lost this game yesterday, I hate losing but it just maybe be another shot in the arm this team needed. I did not like the talk that I was hearing from players after we beat KC, we are good but we are not that good yet, that talk came from the Lee talking about our defense is a SB caliber defense, the front 7 is what he was referring to, not even close, but we are a decent defense when they play which only seems that they can do when Lee is playing. Anyway, Dak needs to stop holding the ball so long waiting for the WRs to come open, that is not going to happen very often at this level, so he needs to flush all the collegiate habits, and he needs to speed up his reads, he needs to keep working on his accuracy and foot work, he needs to spend more time after or before practice with his Wrs so that he can get in sync with them so he knows when to release the ball on deep routes and he needs to understand how to throw guys open. He is a pocket passer that can run, he is not one of those running QBs that everyone keeps trying to stick him as. Chaz Green and any other backup Tackle needs to get to work do their job or move on, our O line is good but we need to have backups that are not far off of being a starter, we should always be drafting Olinemen, and our defense needs to man up and play ball, we will not always have a top LB that knows where the play is going, but on the other hand all of our LBs need to be as astute as Lee is when it comes to watching film, if not find those type of guys . Oh, Jeff Heath needs to be on the sideline and doing special teams only , Jones need to go back to CB and Scandrick needs to go or play ball, maybe he needs to go to safety in Jones spot
I can't tell if this wall of text is serious or not because of the opening.

No.

this team will fight to the end. Fans hate the staff here but I think the players like the staff across the board here.

Why is everyone so sure of this? I'm not saying it's not true, but at the same time I've heard multiple stories of players not respecting Garrett. I can tell you for a FACT there are several FO people that cant stand him, and this is straight from the mouth of a FO guy.

Who said he's a terrible person?

Former players come back and help coaches all the time, even bad coaches. That's not proof that he's a good coach.

Garrett is a mid-level coach who isn't bad enough to deliver sucky teams but not good enough to win anything of any substance.

It's called Cowboys Purgatory.

And in the end, does it really matter if they like him or not? People love to bring this up about how the players love him and play for him and yet it somehow never translates to real, sustained success on the field.

He'll likely never "lose" the locker room. Which is probably one of a few reasons why the Jones always cover for him.

I'm blown away with the thought of this. Was it not just last week - we beat probably the best AFC team fairly easily. Everyone was pooping rainbows out and now we're back to having the stomach bug.

This year has been such a STRANGE year across the board w/ the NFL and Dallas

1. Zeke - while no one wants to admit it - this has to have been a distraction to the team and coaches.
2. The issues that we aren't allowed to talk about with what has gone on this year. The normal feeling is just off....
3. Teams across the NFL - played great one week - like poo the next. Feagles and Pats has been the exception - Eagles schedule has helped them get to where they are.
4. These penalties - and not just what is called and what is not called - it's WHEN they are called. BIG momentum plays have consistently been called back this year - all year long. The one penalty that is a drive killer - offensive holding - I think we all know about what has gone on there. There HAS to be something going on with this league vs. Jerry - because this basically started when Jerry started speaking out. Too much smoke there
5. Jerry vs the league and now Jerry vs the owners.
6. Offseason flame out - made no additions besides draft

Oh, I'm with you. I never liked Garrett as an OC, much less head coach. I've never seen a head coach make such dumb decisions, that even my GF (who doesn't know too much about football), asks "why would they do that?"

We lost too many key contributors and their backups aren't reliable. It was too much to overcome. Tyron, Lee, Zeke and Bailey are all pros. Their replacements, Green, Jaylon, Morris and Nugent are dime a dozen. There's a reason nobody gave Morris any money after his rookie contract, dude is not a difference maker. He ran a 4.7 coming out of college, and he hasn't gotten any faster. There's a reason Jaylon fell to 2nd round (and should've kept falling), his leg is not right. Green was a reach in the 3rd round, not because of injuries, but due to sub-par talent. Nugent was available in the middle of the season for missing extra points, basically the same thing he did yesterday when he missed under 40 yards.

In summary, Jason might not be the second coming of Lombardi, but not even Lombardi was his second coming when he coached the Commanders and had lesser talent than he did with the Packers. Same rule applies to Parcells when he had Testaverde and Jimmy Johnson minus Emmitt with the Dolphins. I remember being 0-2 without Emmitt coming off a super-bowl win. Can't replace once in a generation players like Emmitt and Elliott.

oh cool. So you know a front office person who dislikes him and his opinion falls perfectly in line with yours...What a coincidence.

always amazed at the number of front office people who love to tell people on the internet anonymously about how things should be or could be better.

When you say Front office that implies The executive staff, the Player personnel department and football operations.

so which of the people in those groups fall in the category of can't stand Garrett?

The scouts in player personnel all seem to be pretty close and they have brought Will McClay and Lionel Vital in to power under Garrett.

Who on the executive staff? It is basically all family. Is it jerry's secretary maryiln love? Is she secretly whispering to you how much she hates garrett?

Give me a break. Tell us who in the "Front Office" can't stand him or dont bring it up.

Don't know about the team, he lost me when he was O-coordinator. Edit - but I do wish for his success, I just don't believe in him being that idiot savant he was made out to be.

Help? They are working here. Helping is like haley showing up at camp and telling Demarcus lawrence how to attack tackles and then leaving.

guys like columbo are on the damn staff and in his case he wanted to be with Coach Garrett.

Like I said in the game thread.........."we aren't that lucky"

I have little doubt that the players like him, it is evident in the way they keep fighting for him. He will never lose the team but if he did, I don't think he gets fired. At best, Jerry would wait until his contract is up and probably just move him into the front office. Garrett has a job for life somewhere in the organization. I never would have hired him in the first place.

I would be settled if Dallas would just scrap their whole offensive system and go to a completely new scheme. That would require a new OC and for Garrett to stay out of it and keep that environment going......I would not want to bother him with scheming X's and O's :muttley:
