Is it already written? Cowboys lose a fifth?

Seattle is coming in on a high (Calm down potheads). They roughed up a divisional opponent, albeit a reeling Niners team, but it was impressive on both sides of the ball. Now their sites are set on yet another reeling team with perhaps some revenge on their minds considering what we did to them last year in their unbeatable house.

So is it already written for a team that can't even get off the tarmac without their two leaders, Romo and Dez? Or does this running game with DMac rising from the ashes like a Phoenix finally take flight, along with a slowly improving defense say, "Enough is enough!" and take back our pride, confidence, and execution that has been MIA since losing our two beloved All-Pros.

One way or another, we'll find out if this team has any resolve. Our backs are firmly against the wall and the chips are stacked against us.

Feel free to make your predictions and vent.

First - LOL at part in Bold.

Now, about the game - The very thought of Matt Cassel against the seattle defense does not have me doing cartwheels.

They do struggle on offense though. I expect they will have their share or 3 and outs but I think dallas will need some turnovers to win this one. Everyone is going to have to focus and give their best effort.

We did a great job against him last year. I know...this is a different year, but our defensive cast is better this year, particularly the pass rush. As has been stated, the key will be to keep him in the pocket. Do that, and we have a great chance to keep him from hurting us too badly.

Question will be can we stop the run this year, hopefully so in this game.

Honestly, I have not seen Seattle play yet this year, but just looking at the stats, Lynch has not set the world on fire (3.7 ypc). Overall as a team, however, they're averaging almost 5 ypc (212att, 998yds). Wilson has 271 of those yds (5.7/rush). So, keeping Wilson in the pocket will be key. Easier said than done but we were able to do it last year, so I'm drinking my 3/4 full glass of Kool-Aid on this one.

I think we can contain Wilson like last game but we have struggled stopping the run, so hopefully we can this game.

Graham hasn't really been the playmaker he was in NO yet, hope that trend continues for another week or so at least.

I hope it continues and that our penchant for getting opposing players back on track remains dormant regarding J. Graham.

Nothing is written.
The future is not written.

I think we win .... Uh..... Ummm.... Law of averages? We are just due... Overdue.

I'm sure Coach Marinade has the D working hard on take aways. Last year was great in that dept. This year has been abysmal. Something has to give in our favor. I'm hoping for at least two takeaways by our defense this Sunday.

it comes down to we have to get takeaways from their offense giving ours some short fields and we cannot turn the ball over and have to run the ball really well or we lose its pretty simple but hard to do

So it is written, so it shall pass.

Seriously, though, I think this is a bad match up for our offense, Cassell particularly. They have an opportunistic defense and we have a turnover prone offense. The one saving grace is that Seattle's offensive line is in shambles and the teams likes to give games away like ours. So, who knows? I'm hopeful but not overly confident in a positive outcome.

I also think that our defense is a bad matchup for their offense. They have really struggled with their offensive line with both their run and pass game and Wilson is just not that elite guy who can carry a team with his arm when the rushing game isn't working.

If we game plan to shut down Lynch and let Wilson try and beat us - this will be a very close game.

Takeaways come a lot from playing with a lead and forcing teams into obvious passing situations that lead to pressure resulting in picks and strip-sacks. I don't see Dallas getting a lead by more than any of the previous super-tenuous leads they've had in some of their games. They had chances for picks vs. ATL with a lead and dropped them. Dallas has lost 5 in a row only 3 times in 26 seasons (never even did with Campo's trifecta of 5-11 seasons with those terrible QBs not named Aikman he coached), so if it happens again, it's over, Johnny. Dallas's best record when losing 5 in a row was 6-10.

Our defensive front has been nothing short of unspectacular against the run up the gut. We
have to stay in our lanes, contain the outside against Wilson.

Lynch will be a load. We must do what we did last year when it came to containment.

Let's not forget they added Graham. Hope you're up for it Byron.

Last week an UDFA was gashing us up the middle. This week we face Marshawn and Turbin - tell me they are not licking their chops to bust us up inside. Our recievers can't get off the press - against anyone ! Legion of boom, who hold, smack, pretty much get away murder in the backfield. What chance does anyone not named Dez have of getting open ?
No run stuffing DT (still pisses me off, can't get over that) can't get separation from DB's.
I think overall, we will play better than last week, but think it's a tall order to expect a win.
Then we will see how people feel at 2-5.

The Legion of boom is playing like bust right now. It's like people haven't watched any of their epic collapses. Take your pic. At Cincinatti after they had a seventeen point lead or recently at home against Carolina. Their secondary has been a big reason for that. Blown coverages, confusion, poor awareness, and they still cannot cover tight ends.

Yeah we got gashed in the first half, but overall the defense played well. Marinelli has to make some adjustments and dial back the slants out at the line of scrimmage. Lynch had one big game this year against a terrible 49ers team. Whether it's the offensive line or Lynch is starting to decline he isn't the same guy. Even last year he didn't do anything against us. I'm confident we can duplicate what we did last year.

I think it's funny how people are saying the Seahawks lost to a bunch of good teams. Well that's what bad teams do. They can't beat good teams. Sort of like we couldn't in the 8-8 years. We beat up against the bad teams and could never win against the elite ones. Seattle isn't an elite team right now. You have right now two below average teams going at it next week. It's 50/50.

Well, you're right about one thing, Seattle hasn't beaten a good team all year, but they're not going to be playing a good team on Sunday. Seattle is better than Dallas right now and they're going to win. Some of you guys are just a glutton for punishment or something.

OK, so again tho, not argueing with you - but do you see our receivers getting open ! Do you see us stopping the run up the middle ? If Dez does play, maybe that helps cause without him I can't see it.

-6 line in Vegas is scary.

-6 means Vegas thinks the difference between the Cowboys led by their QB3 and Seahawks is just -3 adjusting for home field advantage.

I suspect the Cowboys would be favored if Romo was playing.

Interesting if nothing else.
