Is it ever a good thing for a NFL team to go into the playoffs on a winning streak?

Lose the last game of the year because everything is locked up as #1 seed and play the C team

It's better to have momentum entering the playoffs. The only playoff games we won under Romo we ended the regular season on a winning note.

I think most SB winning teams in the last 30 yrs lost a game or 2 after October going into the playoffs.

I think the last time a team won a sb with a double digit winning streak going into the playoffs was the Pats team that went 14-2 (could be wrong).

I listen to Nate talking about the heralded '90s Cowboys, and how they would lose big-time especially to a division rival at some point. It's crazy that this team is expected to go 15-1, but I do think that first loss was humbling. It was close, and it's put pressure on them in the division ever since. Garrett talked about it last night. They've also had humbling moments throughout the season, like close games, losing big players like Dez for a few games and relying on backups, etc.

I was thinking about this too.. I think we're past the point of no return. There isn't a good loss left we can take on the calendar.

- We need to win all the divisional games. Losing here gives those teams momentum going into the Playoffs that they can beat us there. We def don't need to drop the last game of the season.
- Detroit/Minnesota are both potential playoff teams, and would get the same boost going into the playoffs.
- Buccaneers at home should be a game that a team making a run should win. We don't need to drop this one.

Our only route is to win out.

Not the easiest path, but that's why I enjoy the "next test" threads so much.

No, a loss is never a good thing. What matters going into the playoffs is how well they prepare for whoever they're playing. Whether they haven't lost since September or they recently lost one, if they take their opponent seriously and work a good game plan, they'll be fine.

They really have a couple teams hot on trail. I don't know if they beat Seattle. Giants are technically 1 game back and Skins look good too. I feel they need to win the next 3 in a row .
