Is it just me or is this season one of the most hopeless in recent memory?

As the media begin to chastise Jerry, fans begin to boo and laugh in his face, I believe he will be forced to bring in a coach to save face, there's a couple who can turn this ship around put the pieces in the right place and get us to the dance in 2 years.

This reminds me of the year before Parcells, hopefully it is. although every Sunday I root for this team till I bleed, if we lose out and get the 1st pick and Jerry is the laughing stock, I won't cry.

The three 5-11 seasons were far worse

Those seasons saw the chaos after losing Aikman and we started the search to find his replacement. We were only 5 years removed from our last SB win and the dynasty years. It was a trade off and one I would take again today.

But, now we're left with a feeling of uncertainty and unfulfilled potential, especially at the QB position where we may end up in a situation where Romo breaks all of the franchise's passing records and has only 2 playoff wins to show for it. We'll be left with another prolonged search for his replacement which will probably lead to more years of ineptitude. We haven't hit rock bottom yet. Things are far worse now.

See i'm (apparently) in the minority as I am still a Jason Garrett supporter and I truly (at least up to this point) believe that JG just got hit with unbelievably bad luck this year with injuries and can and WILL win again, and not just next year but in years to come as well. Call me crazy but I like the fact that the players STILL play hard for JG no matter what the situation is or where the team currently stands and to me, that is a huge positive and determining factor in assessing the legitimacy and validity of a good HC.
The injury excuse is no excuse at all. To lose 7 straight games in the manner they did is flat out inexcusable. Nobody is saying this team is world beaters without Romo, but to not win a single game is a fireable offense. They could have and should have won almost every one of those games and they came away empty handed.

Look at Indianapolis. They are not a more talented team than we are and they're 4-0 without their starter. We can't win a single game without ours. I refuse to accept that from this team.

Let me ask you a question: at what point in your mind is Garrett to blame for any of this mess? Three 8-8 seasons and we blame the players, the coordinators, the guy selling beers in Section 410. Anybody but Garrett. Now we are en route to 3-13 and had the worst 7 game stretch of my adult life and we're finding more excuses for him. When is he accountable in your mind?

That is the mantra of the jerry Jones era, since Jimmy. "Is this the most disappointed you've ever been? Wait until next year!"

Yes this season was hopless. I want to be mad about this season but can't anymore. I never saw one game this year where dallas played like a contender. Dallas wasn't going to win much this year anyway. They proably would've won the division but I don't care about winning those. It's superbowl or bust.

Yes. People have short memories, but that 1-7 start was just as bad as the 2-7 start this year. They finished 8-8.

If you're referring to the 2010 season, they finished 6-10.

Kitna won 5 games out of the last 8 (The only QB I believe in the Romo era to win a game other than the aforementioned Romo)

I was pretty down in 2010 when it was the last time this team was supposedly a SB team. Those 8-8 years were just so painful because of the way we would lose. The last 20 years have been painful as a whole.

My bad on the record, but the point remains the same. The 2010 season sucked.

I dont know, some of those Dave Campo seasons were the dumps. The last year of Wade Phillips was pretty bad. That packers game was pretty difficult to watch. At least we do have some legitimate young talent on the team. The problem is we hold on to players to long, i dont know if that Garrett or the Jones family, but they are stubborn when it comes to moving on.
A lot of other teams do the same thing. Signing or resigning players already on the team.

Yes. We have talent. Young talent.
But this year nothing seemed to work as well as last year.
Stop clapping hands and grab a face mask once in awhile on the side line to make a point.

Not like this. At least then you had the hope that Garrett would be better than Phillips.

Then there was the feeling that change could bring something different the next year.

This time around it not only sucks but you get the pleasure of doing it all over again with the same head coach who screwed up the previous season.

not really. I came to grips about 5-6 years ago that I will be in a pine box before they win another championship as long as the Jones family is running things. I did allow myself to get a little excited last season, but just looks like an aberration. The whole culture needs changed. The sense of entitlement and the belief they are better than they are permeates the entire operation. Been that way for years and years. I love this team, and have since I was 7 years old, but I temper my expectations when I think about how everything is being run compared to other teams.

This one is for me, considering the expectations I had for the team. Coming off last year's record, and a blown call away from the NFC Championship game, coupled with adding a top 5 pass rusher and essentially three 1st round picks, my personal bar was set pretty high.

Seeing those expectations turn into a 3-win season is a pretty big fall.

I feel more hopeless going forward than anything.

We need a breath of fresh air going forward and it looks like we're just to try try again.. Keep processing and plugging away.

Our team is held hostage at the moment.

To add...

It's time for new leadership to step up on offense and defense. Guys like Romo, Witten, Lee, and Church just can't seem to inspire an elevated level of play from those around them. They play their role well but new young blood needs to step up.

Luckily it's college basketball season now and my Kentucky Wildcats are looking good. It's the exact opposite of the Cowboys who always hope are good and they normally let me down. Or a ref helps let me be let down last year. I know the Cats are very good and will make a run. I only hope for Dallas.

I'm certainly asking exactly what Garrett himself is bringing to the table?

From the looks of things, it's not too much.

Unless all hands are on deck, and every one of the star players is 100%, this team doesn't win. He might bring some 'try hard' to the players, but when your schemes aren't putting those players in position to succeed? The rah-rah, clap-clap will wear out its' welcome.

Failing to win a single game without Romo is showing me a coach getting by because great players carry him, rather than a coach helping to make players great.
