Is Jerry Losing It?

Man this has got to be the most overused phrase on the internet. I keep thinking it will get played out but still waiting.

Saw this quote from Jerry...

"Well, I feel like that, two things: number one, and we should see what Rob has got in store in the first preseason game, I'm talking about his defense. But on the other hand, he is doing some things out there that are real sound."

Um, what? Is it just me or is Jerry making less and less sense when he talks? Is it because he is hiding something like raging alcoholism or is he just becoming a senile old man?

Oh, and by the way, he made this comment after the first preseason game. Not that it would matter much because it sounds like gibberish from beginning to end.

Jerra is the best owner in the league. And the worst evaluator of talent since the modern-day Al Davis. And the best spin doctor since Sham Wham guy.

It won't never die.

I'm not a Jerry hater per se', but the fact he STILL did NOTHING to really address the secondary, especially after an embarrassing 6-10 season, leads me to believe all he cares about is :showme: .

What other explanation is there? Don't say salary cap, because we all know that's a non-issue.

My god man, he tried to get NA. The guy didn't want to come here. If you want to criticize Jerry for something do it for turning the franchise into a place where players don't automatically want to come to play anymore. Talking about him not wanting to spend money makes you sound ignorant of the situation.

I'm convinced the only way we are truly going to be able to address the secondary is thru the draft. Problem is this year we pretty much had to go with OL in the first round to keep Romo from getting killed.

So...what should of he done? He tried to get the only legit Cb out there and that player decided to go to Philly.

We witnessed Huff and Weddle get 8 mil a year and they are just good safties. Should of Jerry paid that? The the haters would whine about overpaying a average safty

IMHO...there wasnt much out there in FA that would be a upgrade from Jenkins and Newman.....and then Jerry went out and resigned Sensi to a one year deal and picked up a safety that Ryan knew and liked without breaking the bank on average safties.

I dont know what you expected? draft a safety in the 1st rd? 2nd rd? Then some here would bash Jerry that he drafted for need and reached for a player.

Is that good enough for a explanation? :)

That's not exactly true, there were some pretty decent options out there aside from Asomugha.

Jonathan Joseph, Antonio Cromartie, Chris Houston, Ike Taylor...these guys are all very good to decent options.

Even second tier guys like Drayton Florence and Carlos Rogers (who signed only a one year contract) were available and could have chipped in if need be.

I'm sure someone will step and nitpick the aforementioned players, so let me get a pre emptive strike in and remind everyone that Mike Jenkins was the WORST starting CB in all of football last year, so basically bringing him back as the unchallenged starter is a risky move at best.

Jenkins also made the pro-bowl the year before.....you assume Jenkins of last year is the player he will be (Worst in NFL).....I on the other hand...still hope Jenkins can be the player the Cowboys drafted in 1st round....

The only guy on your list that maybe had a chance to unseat our starting CB's was Cromartie of the Jets.....and imho....he was waiting for the Jets to offter him a big contract.

Joseph is a nice player....and he would of been a nice addition. But didnt a team throw alot of cash at him?...oh yeah the texans....5 yrs almost 49 mil? and 25 mil guaranteed? You wanted Jerry to pay that? WOW

and the rest of the guys you mentioned are Jags.....Scandrick is better :)

This sums up life with Jerry as your GM quite well. Just lots of HOPE that things will get better year in and year out, without any true progress. When one hole gets fixed, another develops, while properly run organizations like the Patriots continue to stack draft picks and replenish with fresh, young talent. Lots on this board are looking at a 10-6 year with a playoff appearance as a huge success for this season. What happened to the days of Super Bowl or bust? We're slowly becoming the Raiders of the southwest, which is no coincidence because our owner is slowly becoming the Al Davis of the southwest.

If you consider the nickel CB to essentially be a starter (as I do), the Cowboys are returning 4/5ths of arguably the worst secondary in team history.

What's worse is there's really no one (at this moment) behind any of these players to replace them should they stumble again.

Yeah, I hope Jenkins is the player he was in 2009, but I'd sure like to have a plan B on the roster just in case.

Of course, cuts haven't happened yet, so I fully expect Dallas to bring someone in just in case of emergency.

And respectfully, all of the guys on my list would either be starting for the Cowboys or (at worst) playing in the nickel. ;)

This thread disappoints. 14 hours old, a softball lob chance to bash Jerry, the one man scapegoat, and only 51 posts.

He doesn't make any sense to me at all, I get annoyed listening to his press conferences. I just try to ignore it though, get as many pieces of info I can from his sentences and just go with it. It is just gibberish, I am surprised that national media doesnt comment on this more lol

Really? you just want to give up on Jenkins? Should we do that to all players?...give them 2 yrs...if they dont succeed....trash them? Jenkins made the pro bowl in 2009 ...why wouldnt us fans have hope that he succeeds?

But yes....agenda driven again.....Jerry Jones = Al Davis

So much hate for Jerry....decades worth...and these haters still follow? Im impressed

I think the "one man scapegoat" is ridiculous. Learn to read.
