Is Jerry Losing It?

People,

There's no point in continuing with this thread. Salty just owned it. There's nothing more that can be said. Just give the man his props.

What is even more disturbing to me is that so many of you actually believe this little fable by saltwater is original. It seems incredibly obvious that he simply replaced some other character with Jerry. This story has nothing to do with anything - it's just a stupid story about an evil guy. And Aesop would be turning over in his grave right now because the other reality is that this fable sucks. Generally, fables have a strong point to make about greed, love, determination, or another deep topic. This story is just ********.

For those keeping score at home, Jerry's been doing this for a long, long time, i.e. making two points in the same breath that seem to counterdict each other.

It's just how Jerry is.

It's not that he contradicts himself. It's that he's not even making any kind of coherent point whatsoever. He's just talking gibberish.

All original satire. It speaks volumes that you equated it as an attempted fable.

I'm not a Jerry hater per se', but the fact he STILL did NOTHING to really address the secondary, especially after an embarrassing 6-10 season, leads me to believe all he cares about is :showme: .

What other explanation is there? Don't say salary cap, because we all know that's a non-issue.

Dude, have you been living under a rock or something?

Jerry offered N.A. over $10 mill a year and the guy punked us at the last minute.

People are bothered because the move is typical of Jones. Go hard after the biggest name in FA, and then have no plan B if you miss.

We really, really needed a plan B.

In order for the secondary to be good this year, we needed a few things to fall into place:

1) Jenkins has to return to form
2) Newman has to stay healthy
3) Scandrick has to stay in the slot/nickel role where he belongs
4) Sensabaugh has to repeat what he did last year
5) Ball has to be upgraded

We succeeded with respect to #5, #2 and #3 don't look good early on, and the jury is out on #1 and #4.

In other words, it's not a great start. I would feel a lot more comfortable if there were some other desireable options back there just in case.

Saw this quote from Jerry...

"Well, I feel like that, two things: number one, and we should see what Rob has got in store in the first preseason game, I'm talking about his defense. But on the other hand, he is doing some things out there that are real sound."

Um, what? Is it just me or is Jerry making less and less sense when he talks? Is it because he is hiding something like raging alcoholism or is he just becoming a senile old man?

Oh, and by the way, he made this comment after the first preseason game. Not that it would matter much because it sounds like gibberish from beginning to end.

Not sure Jerry ever had it and when it comes to football I know he never did.
