Thank god the Roy Williams tradefest is over.

I'd trade a 7th for Jones - he has upside

I can't speak for Jones laziness...however he is an extremely talented guy in only his third year of being a WR.

I would take a chance on him as long the investment was kept to a minimum.

Isaiah Stanbacks' upside > Matt Jones' upside

I'd rather have him than Hurd by a long margin. And he may prove to be better than Crayton. I don't see him as a number two and esp not a one. But only he can prove people wrong about that. I don't know if he could break into the starting lineup and I include the top three WRs in that. He would keep another prospect off the field and possibly the roster. I'd hate to pass on a Jimmy Smith for him given what he's done so far. And he would cost more money than a first or second year player.

So you still want him?

What on earth have you seen from Matt Jones that would give you this impression???? :lmao2:
His 40 time at the combine 3 years ago?

Dude is a bust.
As bad as Jacksonville needs wideouts - if he was any good - why is he available?

Sam Hurd > Matt Jones

In what Universe?

Hurd just can't get any separation. He tries hard but he is just too limited physically to ever amount to much. Did he even manage 20 receptions last year as the 3rd WR? I think Crayton got about 40 the year before despite missing time with injury and having TO, Glenn and Witten to share with.

Jones may not be great but Hurd is pretty damn limited. I'll be surprised if he makes the team. At least Austin and Stanback have more tools and can return kicks.

Come on...Jones is head and shoulders better than Sam "Freakin" Hurd. No matter how fat and lazy Jones may or may not be, he still caught 41 passes and averaged almost 16 a touch in this league as a sophmore.

So why is Matt Jones available?
Wouldn't you say we're more loaded at WR than Jacksonville?

And wasn't Matt Jones like a starter?
lol 41 catches? Wow.
Thats amazing for a starting receiver!

If we wait long enough, Jones will be released and we can get him without giving up a draft pick

I see and understand your logic, but that logic does not always work.

You can ask Jay Novacek and Leondard Davis for starters.

Scratch that... Just looked it up...

Matt Jones was beat out by Ernest friggin Wilford. lol

M.Jones: 24 rec for 317 yards (4)TDS, (3) 20+ yd recs, (1)40+ yd rec

S.Hurd: 19 rec for 314 yards 1 TD, (5) 20+ yd recs, (1) 40+ yd rec

Matt Jones did miss 4 games... but keep in mind...

Sam Hurd plays on a team with Terrell Owens and Jason Witten.

Matt Jones played on a team with Ernest Wilford and Dennis Northcutt. lol

Sam saw FAR less targets I'm sure.

No thanks... I'll roll with Sam.

We have one WR.....if you think a one-legged 35 year-old Glenn, two undrafted wr's and an unknown fourth round qb-turned wr is better than the Jags depth of Reggie Williams, Dennis Northcutt, Jerry Porter, Matt Jones and Troy Williamson than you are wearing your blue and silver coloured glasses a little too long.....not that there is anything wrong with that.

Agreed.

I think Garrett would find ways to help him be more successful. Garrett would have a nice offensive toy.
