Is Newman irreplaceable?

When Jerry pressed all potential coaching candidates this offseason about who was the best player on dallas (or hardest to replace) they all uneqivically said Terrence Newman. Some of you feel better by brushing that off and saying...Wade will adjust...its take 52 other players...blah..blah...blah - typical denial stuff. Some of us choose to live in reality....some of you choose to live in a dallas cowboy wonderland were reality is not a given and rose colored glasses are given at the door.

Actually, Demarcus Ware is our best player on D.

Dude-please tell me, WHAT can we do? WHAT?? So calling everyone on DCZ a bunch of idiots(for showing *optimism* for doing w/o him) is going to cure everything??

I feel an "Official Newman Hand-wringing thread" coming on.

It's only a matter of time. The merge will be epic, and might explode the internets.

You may have just been joking, but I think it will be a good idea... The falcons had a forum dedicated to Vick when that was going through it's paces and I think an official Newman injury thread would be sufficient.

You can go there to debate whether it's going to mean doom, Phillips can adjust, if he's the best player on the Cowboys or just the defense, if the Giants (or whatever team is in the first couple of games) can expose a Henry/Glenn combo, insane PETA-anger-inducing treatments involving goats, timelines for recovery and whether you should play him injured or not. Come on mods, get-er-done!

Shhhhh...we're looking for clients. If you're a "thug", and you need to be "supported", then come join us.

I needed a third (because Law firms always have three names) and he was the first that popped to mind. I'm open to other suggestions. Long Beach wasn't terribly important, other than being a line about "representing" (legally), but it doesn't make sense with Dre on there if you think about it.

It's just not as funny anymore... now that I know the thought process behind it. :(

Haha... well, assuming you want someone most people have heard of...

Warren G and Nate Dogg are probably the biggest names to come out of LBC, besides Snoop.

And if you pick Nate, you could change it to "Dogg, Dogg, and Nowell".

That won't be necessary. The Newman insanity is blazing hot right now, but it will cool back down to more manageable levels once the newest Chicken Little thread hits the forum. That's a good idea for a Falcons forum though, since it's gonna be a LONG time for Atlanta fans to readjust without their best player.

The Pats won their last Super Bowl with 2 rookie corners.

The Colts won their Super Bowl sans their 2 DTs.

The Bears got to that Super Bowl without their 2 best D players(Tommie Harris and Mike Brown)

End of story

Yeah... but look at who's running those 3 teams. That's the common thread:

New England has Brady running things.

Colts have Manning running the show.

The Bear's have... um... ahem...

Nevermind.

That's the pt I was trying to make-the guy MOST on the hot seat is TONY ROMO.

I've said this in a previous thread-we could have THE FF Injury-LESS D, but if Romo flashes his inconsistency like he did late last year, we'll be 9-7 regardless. And our OL play is even more iffy. Those 3 teams above have 3 of the best OLs in all of football.

So why all these "We can't without Newman" threads?

Yes But none of them who was out compares to Newman....Newman is like 4 secondary skilled guys in 1...Newman is our secondary!

All those guys on a scale 1-10 are all probably 7's newman breaks the scale!

Really? When Ty Law was in his prime then, he was one of the best, if not the best cover corner in the league. And Tyrone Poole wasn't far behind.

And the Colts lost Monte Reager and Corey Simon-2 HUGE Tackles. You DO know Indy plays Cover 2, right? You do know that in Cover 2, your QB pressures relies largely on your front 4, right? And yah-their run D was ripped to shreds in the middle, even worse.
