Is Parcells done?

If this team continues to slip and slide out the back door of this season, finishing 8-8 or 9-7 and missing the playoffs after once being 7-3, will Parcells be fired? Or will we just blame Bledsoe and go find another old, released QB to finish out BPs contract?

;)

Merry Christmas, you filthy animals :)

BTW...I expect to shut down the Chief's running game, apply pressure to Green who has only marginally more mobility than Bledsoe, hold thier offense to 17 points, and eek out a victory at home.

The only way we lose on Sunday in our house is if BPs special attention to special teams costs us the game by allowing a TD in the return game...in which case, I hope Parcells is fired on the spot :)

I don't think Parcells is done until he feels he has rebuilt the team talent wise.

Obviously, I was being sarcastic, but since you make a reasonable and logical point (Scrooge), I'll add that Parcells will then have to fulfill his contract. It will take 2-3 years to get the offense anywhere near the level of the defense.

Even signing free agents and drafting guys to play OL, blocking TE/FB, and WR, offense also takes more time to gel than a defense...it's much harder for rookies to shine on offense, especially at OL and WR.

Sorry to ruin the sarcasm :lmao:

Nonsense. Look what the Giants did in one year. They were horrible last year and now their on the way to winning the division. Parcells needs to realize that it takes more than one person (aka;himself) to build a team. He should hire new offense minded coaches who can develop both passing and running schemes. Other teams know Parcels and his current schemes better than he realizes. The OL stinks and and so does its coach. Also, I hope JJ insists on an offensive coordinator and takes that responsibility
away from Parcells.

No, thats when he would start to go to work, revamping that O line. That might be the best thing that could happen to us. Remember how he got fooled with the 2003 D. Lets not give him reason to think maybe we can just coach these boys up and be ok. Lets reassure the fact he has to spend Jerrys money in FA and then smartly draft O line heavy. No more Jacob Rogers.

Laughable. Funny how a loss to a very competitive and good team in the Gnats brings out the boo birds and all the "should Parcells be fired" questions.

No matter what you think of Parcells or what his results are, I doubt you will ever see Jerry Jones fire him because the sheer negative publicity with the media would make Jerry Jones a media target for years to come. The only way Parcells leaves Dallas is if he wants to go.

FWIW-too bad the G-Nats' POS kicker is going to run a dagger in their hearts, even more so than our own Badsoe is doing to us now.

FWIW-what is it with all these older coaches? Parcells, Gibbs, and even Bum Phillips/Mike Ditka were BRILLIANT earlier in their careers, then they just weren't that SAME coach late in their careers.

It seems like their biggest weakness is just that-their LOVE for older players. Bum brought in over-the-hill players like Stabler and Campbell in N'Awlins, and Ditka did the same in his stint there too. And look at the older guys Parcells and Gibbs are bringing to the table with their respective teams now.

I dunno-maybe at the age of 60+, they just don't have the energy to work with young QBs et al?

I think you are right on Reality...... Parcells inherited some junk when he came here...... Look what he did with the "D" this year. If I recall, there were some big time nay sayers regarding the 3-4..... seems as though they are coming together and playing pretty good, no? I think Parcells/Payton should be a little more creative with the offense and I don't think he's going anywhere!

The Giants had a good running game with their OL and Barber...they also had toomer and shockey....what held them back last year was a rookie QB. This year Eli is playing less like a rookie and they added Burress.

That's much different from needed an OL overhaul and tweaking your WRs while continuing with an immobile but effective QB.

You're speaking logically, Reality, but let's not forget that Jones fired Landry, whom I think was heads and shoulders above Parcells and certainly more of a demi-god in Dallas ;), though the entire idea is meant as a joke...I'm very happy with what Parcells has done so far...I never expected us to be as good as we are at this time.

Frankly-the GNats' OL hasn't played all that great either this year. They've, unlike us, have lots of penalties.

No. The Giants had the same record at the Cowboys last year, so they started their offseason the same as the Cowboys, but filled their needs much better. Their needs were different than the Cowboys, but regardless, they now have a very good team - all around. Parcells, I think takes too much for granted and never seems to complete the job. I am constantly amazed how unprepared his teams are with the high level of talent he has.

I am not suggesting that he be fired, but he certainly, needs to make changes in the overall structure of the team (coaches, coordinators and some players).

Dude-don't sweat it. If you think our Badsoe is bad, Feely's gonna give the GNats a bad taste of liquor
next month. :lmao2: :lmao:

1 Tackle. 1 or 2 Gaurds. Top flight WR.

FS. 1 LB.

How long will it take to fill these holes? Will he be here when we finally fill those? How many new holes will open while trying to fill the holes we have now? QB comes to mind in a hurry. Glover, Ellis will be up there in age. We really need to load up next year, I thought we did this last offseason. I think we hit on a few(Henry, and Glenn) and missed on a few(Rivera, and Fergy).

I know this is a league where you can go from last to first in 1 year, but I feel like so far(Not including this years fabulous draft), we've pretty much wasted a lot of time with the likes of guys like.....Marcellus Wiley, Ryan Young, Vinny Testaverde, Pete Hunter(whoever was #2 CB), Tony Dixon, Lynn Scott, Ekuban, just 3rd and 4th rate guys. I know you need to have a few of those guys and you can't have stars at every position, but Sheesh.

I love BP. I don't wanna see him go. If we don't win a Championship this year or next......BPs time here was a failure. He's not a failure, the whole plan was a failure. From top to bottom.

I'm done, sorry for the rambling.
