Things are often said in frustration after bad games, but Jerry was POed after the game for sure. The lack of heart and apparent effort was cited.
BP cannot walk away from this without some blame. Is he safe?

Or will we just see some changes in the staff?

Perhaps Bill will simply walk away. He's a great coach, no doubt. But perhap it's just time for someone new -- and younger.

This loss, like the one to the Saints, is on Parcells and the coaching staff. They did NOT have this team prepared for the game from either a gameplan or intensity standpoint.

If I were Jerry I would be very upset with Parcells and would let him know it.

Jerry could fire Purcells right now and I wouldn't care.

The guy just doesn't have it anymore.

How many more first round picks does the guy need playing on defense to put together a great unit?

How many more times is Jerry going to sit around and watch his supposed HOF coach get schooled in a big game?

Go on to the racetrack Purcells, and take your houseboy Zimmer with you.

If this were any other coach I think we could all agree this would be his last season. I was so happy when Bill got here, but now I want to clean house and start over.

A few player changes and a complete new coaching staff----there is a time that the game changes to much for the older coaches--turn Parcells out to pasture ---No need to wait till the super bowl --let the word out now --we are looking for a new coach:bang2:

Purcells is not safe and if it was anyone else he would already be gone..Listen to Jerry's comments- for the first time he said the problem is the whole organization which is code for coaching not just players....

Time to change underwear again Jerry....Parcells and Zimmer must go....Wish Jerry would too

No, Parcells will be back, However, I feel we need some new blood on the Defense Coaching Staff.

I think if it's a poor showing in the playoffs, Parcells quits on his own. If we somehow get to the NFC championship he'll want to stay and Jerry will keep him.

Basically, what they said.

No pride, no excitement, no sense of urgency. Just go out on autopilot and hope that the same thing you do each and every game works one more time.

Parcells needs to look in the mirror every morning and thank god for Tony Romo because if it weren't for him, this team and this year would have been a complete friggin' disaster.

Parcells has done NOTHING but get lucky with Romo making the appearace that perhaps he's (BP) done a decent job this year.

The fact of the matter is he got lucky (as did the team) with Romo.

Never liked Bill........still don't. The OL is HORRIBLE, Romo made THEM look better than they are and the defense, while decent, is playing awful down the stretch.

Hell, we're lucky we're playing Detroit next week or we very well could be looking at another 9-7 year. Without Romo, probably 6-10 or 7-9.

Good job Bill.

Not.

:hammer:

He can take Zimmer with him too. There are no free passes this time for Zimmer. i'm not sure who was more instrumental in having Zimmer stay over and coach the 3-4 (BP or JJ?) but it has been a collossal failure IMO.

I think Parcells will be back but I think Zimmer will be fired because of the defensive breakdowns. Come on, the Eagles offense isn't that good. This defense looked helpless trying to defend it. I know at some point players have to make plays but Zimmer is clueless coaching this defense. Parcells needs to make the change and get someone in who knows the 3-4 inside out. Right now this defense reminds me of the mid-90's Dolphins- way overrated and can't ever make a big stop in a big spot.

The thing is, if Jerry does fire Bill, who does he bring in? Will he go after another proven veteran coach, or does he take the same attitude as he did when we let go Vanderjagt, no more high price coaches? Looking at the job Payton is doing, he may go after a younger coach, hoping for the same results. If that happens, we might end up with another puppet here.

I dont know if the leash on defense is being held by Zimmer, or Parcells, but it's time to cut it, and let these guys go wild out on the field, and wreac havoc.

My appologies for rambling. It's early, and I haven't had caffeine yet.

I thought the defense started the game with a sense of urgency and fire, but what astounded me was how quickly they folded once they had a TD shoved down their throats.

I tend to think BP will be back if he wants. I think the defensive staff will undergo some changes.

After the first Giants game, I remember Chris Mortensen reporting that Jerry had said that if BP walked, the replacement would not come from theh staff as they had underachieved.

Would anyone be surprised if we went back to the 4-3?

As for the rest of the season, we beat the Lions in a close game, then Shaun Alexander runs over us in Seattle and we exit.

Jerry has been the model owner since Bill came. He has let Bill do it his way with few exceptions. That is the way it should be. But what has Jerry to show for it. Nothing. Will he be ready to let another coach come in here with the authority he needs to do the job? We are in a bad spot right now. I can see Jerry saying forget this I can get this result from a puppet plus its alot more fun. I don't know what the answer is but I'm pretty sure its not Parcells and this staff. We seem to be getting the same results each year with BP. We peak sometime in October and fade down the stretch. We beat about one good team per year and smack around the bad ones. If I were Jerry I would be very tempted to make a change.
