Is Romo the NFL version of Dirk?

It seems to be all of Dallas teams here lately, get so far but can't win the big one.

Yep, the Cowboys, Mavs, Stars, and even Desperados have all turned in one and dones after excellent seasons recently.

Only the Rangers are consistent in that they always suck.

I gotta correct you.

Duncan in 03 and Hakeem in 94 carried their teams on their backs to championships. Those rosters were filled with role players and Duncan and Hakeem dominated in the regular season and the postseason. There was no Drexler for that 94 title, and Ginobli was nothing more than a rookie role player and Parker had no jump shot and got benched during the Finals for his poor play. Not to mention their third best scorer, Stephen Jackson, had a historically awful Finals in shooting percentage and turnovers until Gm 6.

You cant blame Dirk for the last few years he has delievered when needed, but the rest of the team just faltered.
Hahahah... always funny when Mavs homers conveniently "forget" about the Warriors stomping them out. So much for Dirk "delivering when needed".

Remember that? I believe Stephen Jackson still has Dirk's nads sitting on his coffee table.

he tried them on but they were too heavy for his frame

while we're on Jackson, he's the winner of the ugliest player to ever don a uniform in any sport ever award.

while we're on Jackson, he's nothing without Baron Davis hitting shots that God himself couldn't make

I've said a lot of bad things about Dirk, but that guy brings it. I think that Cuban and Nelson are an absolute horrible combination. They need to trade for a big man no matter what.

But I do think that Dirk is clutch, and I do think he has championship qualities, as does Romo.

I think Romo has mad skills. But I think Romo wants to be super man, and Garrett wants him to be as well. In stead of Garrett grabbing a hold of Romo and telling him to stop flinging the ball all over the place, he lets him go.

All in all, I think you have to build a team around both these guys, I think the Cowboys are closer to that than Dirk is, and once you have that team around you, you have to have clutch performers, not just the Super Stars.

While we're on Jackson, he made Dirk into his ***** that entire series (especially game 6), shutting the Mavs window of opportunity in the process. Sixty-seven wins that year from the Mavs in the regular season, right?

I'm sure Dirk still has nightmares of that series every offseason.

Speaking of Dirk's "frame", who cares? He doesn't have the nads to actually USE it, so what difference does it make? He's a shooting guard in a power forward's body. Hahah there were points that Matt Barnes and Baron Davis were effectively guarding him that series!

you're not going to get much of an argument out of me on that whole Warriors series... that was just bad... really bad

You guys are cute and all, but don't open your mouth and show how little you guys know about basketball. Stick to crying about Wade and TO, and don't embarrass your self.

it would help Romo if we ran the ball more instead of asking him to throw for 400 yards and 5 tds every game.

I have and do watch a lot of basketball. If you remember Kevin Garnett used to have the same reputation. Look at his career with the Timberwolves. He was always awful in the playoffs. Now people dont say that about him anymore. Now he can do no wrong.
The problem isnt Dirk is horrible. The problem is that teams double him with enough intensity in the playoffs and no one else on the team can step up to make them pay.
Dirk is a great player. But he needs to have another dangerous weapon playing with him. He is a amazing shooter who can and will beat anyone 1 on 1. But if he is getting the double team then that means someone else is open and they need to step up. Garnett had the same problems earlier in his career before he became surrounded with hall of famers Ray Allen and Paul Pierce.

Sooooooooo.. You're saying that Romo will only realize his true potential once he gets traded to another team? Crap! :bang2: :bang2: :bang2:

Well your boy Red is coming back so expect more of the same unless someone like Dan Reeves comes aboard. Wade is helpless.

Dirk will get a ring but not unless we get a Sg thats for real ,a center that can score or he is traded to a team that provides that for him.KG didnt do crap till he got his partners.JBLOW aint cutting it.

Don't compare romo to dirk ....dirk has been to the finals if it wasn't for that terrible foul call that sent wade to the line with .4 seconds left the mavs would be champs
