Is Roy Williams (SS) really done?

I would hate to see him go. He was the face of our defence for a while and it would be unfair to cut him after an injury, at least I feel.

I'm not sure of the conditions in his contract, but I feel he should be allowed one last season to return to form. I mean he's Roy Williams.

If you don't see why I want him so bad just watch..

Football is a business. Which means it is about results, not being fair.

If he is not doing his job well enough, then he needs to go if we can find someone to replace him. I'm not saying he is or isn't, but who cares if it is fair or not. Either he does his job well enough, or he's gone.

i'm with you.. i want Roy back..

and i think there's about a 50/50 chance he'll be back.. now that we are finally attacking on defense, i think Roy could become dominate again.. he seemed rejuvenated before he got hurt.. he was playing really aggressively again.. and he has been a huge Cowboys cheerleader on the sideline, really hollering for the guys and the guys seem to love it, as a lot of them have come over to Roy after a big play.. a lot of times, when guys are hurt they'll just stand there, looking like they don't care one way or the other.. not Roy, he's really into it..

we miss his play against the run, and none of our other safeties have been any better in pass coverage, Hamlin included.. i think he loves being a Cowboy, i think Jerry loves him being a Cowboy, and i think a lot of people would love to see what a rejuvenated Roy could do in a defense that he was born to play in..

Ever since Kelly Rowlen called the wedding off he's not even been a shell of himself. Everyone blames the religion thing but the guy was in shambles from that. He was the NFL's most physical player while hanging out with Destiny's Child and Jay Z. Neither of the 2 are the case anymore and it's not a coincidence.

I think he's gone too.

I also have a hunch that that's just the kick in the *** he needs, and that he'll return to his old form somewhere else....and that by doing so he'll continue to create havoc on this forum. Lucky us!

I'll bet he's back. They may have to move some money around, but I think he wants to be here, and I think Jerry wants him here.

What isn't fair is how much money he's stolen from Jerry, and how he made us cry!!!

Here is how he stays...

1) He goes to Jerry and voluntarily restructures his deal.

2) He plays on obvious running downs and plays with the reckless abandon we all know and love him for.

3) He spends the off-season working on the field and in the film room to improve his coverage. I think we will lose Kevin Burnett to free agency. There is no reason why Roy can't move to Burnett's nickel linebacker spot on passing downs. Now Williams is playing almost every down and he's playing positions he can handle. He's big enough (6'0"/225 vs Burnett 6'3"/227) to take on blockers if teams run on passing downs and he should be able to handle the coverage responsibilities of the position.

Roy is well-liked by Jerry and his teammates. If there's any way he can stay and help this team then I think he deserves that chance.

Roy just can't cover anyone at Safety

Stopped blowing up people for years, horse collar, shattered arm. I sense he's done

Good idea, but this may give him a little too much responsibility too quickly.

I'm not convinced he is. The safety position was hit pretty hard this year by injuries. We honestly don't know how he would've performed this year since he was injured for all but 3-4 games(?)

I could see them drafting another safety, regardless of what they do with Roy.

Except he has been getting kicked in the *** by the Dallas fans and media for the last 3 years and it hasn't been enough for him to return to his old form.
He may go elsewhere and talk the talk about getting his game back, but his game left him somewhere along the line and its not coming back.

Sad, because he was so good on the field for a period of time. And I think he has always gone above and beyond off the field as a genuinely good guy.
