is there any wonder the offense is in trouble when you draft 90% Defense

With all this talk about how the Oline sucks and how pathetic the offense is, has everyone forgot, WE drafted 90% defense. The Boys's did not try and improve the WR position (like it or not we are not getting seperation from DB's) we waited tell late in the draft to pick up the O-linemen.

AM I wrong in saying that the Defense has looked pretty good for the last few years and the Offense has just went south since we lost Jimmy Johnson and the Triplets. SO WHY did the BOYS give all the attention to re-inventing a good defense and keep a lagging aging offense. We are paying now for the descion we made in April. Quit hanging on the coat tells of past SB winniners and start being the TIP OF THE SPEAR.

uh no. The defense was HORRID last year. There is only so many resources and time in one off season.

Rivera-injured his back lifting weights

Flo-gone for the season

Rogers-IR since the offseason

Maybe that's why?

Injuries aren't an excuse-nothing you can do about them. However-if the Colts' OL was banged up, how would P. Manning be doing? Or what if their DL was hobbled? Would they be playing THIS good of a D?

Still why did we draft 90% defense when our offense has been in the tank since 1999. Still no new WR's to grow (crayton is diamond in the rough)
The Boys wait tell late in the draft to pickup Olinemen (ie Pettit 7th Rnd)
Rogers has been a bust since day 1 injury prone..

We drafted Barber in the 4th, added Rivera and brought in Bledsoe.

I'd say after signing Henry, Ferguson and Glenn we tapped our resources for the year.

It wasn't like Rogers was injury prone at USC either.

It happens-there's not a darn thing anyone can do about it either. Sure-the Colts are dominant this year-but they also happen to be injury free too.

Maybe I'm wearing beer goggles.. But I remember the days of Ryan Leaf and the cowboys qb shuffles. The only positive thing we had back then was a good defense. Last year we were hurt at DB. Does that justify re-inventing the entire Defense and coaching mentality...... I could totally understand it if we took that philosy and applied it to the Offense......But instead we re-invented the wheel and accepting the Offense as is....

We drafted defense because Parcells is a ball control freak. A bad defense doesnt give your offense the ball much. See the last ten years. After a nights sleep, I'm not as upset as I was after the game. The Giants arent a bad team and we played with them. Denver didnt kill us. No one has blown us out. Injuries on the oline are hurting us, but if these young guys would just step it up a tiny bit we would be singing praises.
The defense is putting us in position to win almost every single game.
Heres to hoping its all about the offense next of season.

Really? Other than Newman, we didn't even have a DB to begin with. Pat Hunter was our second best one-but healthy or no, he was FAR from decent.

BTW-our 03 decent was crap. We just had a BIG joke of a schedule that year. Our over-achieving that year ended up being our detriment in the long run as well.

Exactly. We were bad on both sides of the ball last year. Now we're only bad on one side of the ball.

You can't fix everything at once. This year we fixed the defense. Next year we we fix the offense. Pretty simple really.
