Is there something I'm missing about Dwayne Harris?

I've always thought Harris was a good player and not just on special teams. I know that Cole Beasley is getting most of the attention as the 3rd receiver but why? Harris just doesn't seem to get the looks that Beasley got. Is there something I'm missing and I'm being serious. Harris makes plays and fights for every yard, breaks tackles, has good hands, etc. The only thing I can think of is maybe Beasley runs better routes. I guess Beasley is doing better in practice but Harris comes to play and should get more reps IMO...........

Harris has had some drops in critical situations.

Harris has had some drops in critical situations.

OTOH, he had a whole lot of big plays when he did make the catch.

That being said i think the issue is more to do with Garrett and his ability to trust players.

This is 100% conjecture on my part but when he doesn't run the ball or utilize player X i think it is because he doesn't trust the respective players to get the job done.

He is better utilized on ST's and as a back-up WR or in certain packages IMO. I like him too but Cole is/can be more shifty running those routes. Harris will see more offensive plays if another WR gets injured for sure.

I agree. Felt like they made the call to not use him on offense way to easily.

At worst he appears to be a player you can use on short routes just to take advantage of his running ability. Shown as a returner and limited WR play that he's great at avoiding or simply breaking the tackle of that initial defender.

Must not be earning those reps in practice, I guess...

Agree. If Harris is not getting opportunities at WR, it's because somebody (most likely Garrett) does not trust him as much as other players (Beasley).

Is it possible they like Beasley because they can move him around and cause more mismatches for him or Dez?

I think Beasley fits in the same category... Question will be if he can handle it when they move him out of the slot. He could take some major shots down field.

I'm thinking that both Harris and Beasley could see minimal targets at WR with Escobar and Dunbar playing in the slot. If Dunbar stays healthy he could end up on the field as a WR while another RB is on the field OR be that 4th WR when they go empty backfield.

We have so many weapons we could have the new greatest show on turf again. Hard to not get super psyched!!!

Agreed, and can you imagine if Street develops into a decent WR? Having 5 capable WRs and 2 (3?) capable TEs... wow.

It would be nice to see Harris get more touches outside of kick/punt returns. Ultimately, both guys would be competing for the #3 receiver position which seems to be primarily played from the slot. In that regard, Beasley is the better option.

I just think that Harris has a lot of talent and could be a big contributor on offense. I hate to see a talented player like Harris just play special teams. The guy is a real threat....

One helluva special teams player, but honestly I think he's greatly over rated as a WR by some here.

Problem is Garrett is the same guy that trusted... sheesh forgot his name, the receiver released two years ago that had speed but only showed up every so often.
