Murrany ran a 4.37? I never knew that. On game day he looked like he ran a 4.77. Guy was a good back last year but if he would have had more speed, well only what could have been

Well, for starters, Pro Day 40 times are historically skewed...many times by 1/10th a second or more. But even 4.47 is a good time. That was a long time (and many carries and injuries) ago though.
FWIW, you'll never see a pro day time that's not faster than a combine time.

His coach raved about him; seems to have the right attitude. Good one to watch in preseason.

There's something about the phrase "pet cat" that makes me squirm. I hate that phrase

Thank you. I feel like I'm the only one. I picture a young rookie or first year player curled up on another grown man's lap, the player licking his arms and behind while his "owner" continually strokes and caresses his pet.

Yet one was drafted and the other not

In 2003 Drew Henson and 12 other QBs were drafted. Tony Romo was nOt

And about a 100 other college QBs were not drafted that year. How they doing?

The point is that you can't just look at measurables and say that two guys are similar. Randle was projected as a 3rd-5th round pick by most sources (we, in fact had him with a 3rd round grade). Johnson was widely projected as UDFA. There are reasons for these difference beyond forty times and the like

But, like Romo or Beasley, it might just be small school syndrome. We'll see soon enough.

Nothing like a few highlights to make me fall in love with a guy. Thanks for that.

I think Randle looked quicker than DeMarco last year because he had fresh legs. Popping off a long run in the second half after someone else wears the defense (and himself) down is a bit different than being the guy from the beginning. People are forgetting how good and dependable Murray was last year. I don't have much faith in Randle, Dunbar or McFadden, so hopefully Gus can steal the job away.

Don't make a fuss, just say GUS!

Agree on all points.

Murray never looked 4.3 fast in a Cowboys uniform. And I have to admit, I chuckled a little at the thought of Dez showing up without his shoes, ha. Dude's come a long way, no one can deny that.

People seem to have completely forgotten Murray's first 3 seasons, maybe mixing him up with the Barbarian. Murray's rookie season he had tons of crazy long runs. He made Uncle Felix look absolutely slow.

This nugget was just tweeted quoting Gus.
Brandon George @DMN_George
Cowboys RB Gus Johnson also credits the OL: "It’s pretty easy when you’ve got the offensive linemen they’ve got here. Those guys are great."

side note: this quote just reminded me why the FO had confidence to offer DeMarco a reasonable contract. Dallas didn't let him walk.. DeMarco did what he said he wouldn't do.. He took the money. (Don't blame him tho)
