This came from the comments under the article written on MSN's front page about Ware being disappointed with Jerry...
"After 2014, Witten & Carr are almost guaranteed to get cut because Jerry has no clue on how to manage the salary cap. Romo has restructured twice in 2 years so Jerry could get under the cap. Of course that means in 2015 Romo is going to count $27.8 million- if he's cut that balloons to $38 million- so look for Romo to get his walking papers 2016 when it drops down to $17 mil."

I think their age almost guarantees they are released around that time even if the cap doesn't. Romo only had about 3 years worth of his money guaranteed but it's prolly more fun to predict it will be due to Jerrys incompetence for most people.

Romo basically has a 3 year contract according to Spags, there is virtually no way the Cowboys can release Romo before then.

So Romo has 2014, 2015, and 2016..............then he is most likely released.

From Calvin Watkins article:

Next year, Romo’s cap number is projected to be $27.7 million, the highest in the NFL.

The media is spewing out all kinds of false information about the Cowboys cap issues.

The Cowboys could have kept Ware and had 26.5M in cap space in 2014 if they wanted to go that route.

The cap issues are way overblown. If the NFL cap increases as some project, then it will be a non issue.

In 2015 the 17MM salary will be converted into a signing bonus to make his cap hit 14MM rather than 28MM. Its amazing how many people get paid to write about sports who haven't spent the one hour it takes to understand the salary cap.

Somehow it became cool to bash the Cowboys. It sells and collects likes.

Personally, I could see Tony retiring rather than being cut at that point.

From a salary cap standpoint, that's pure crazy talk.

Dallas can even restructure one or the both of them this year and still not have an issue in 2015 from a cap perspective.

Jason Witten and Brandon Carr can both be released with post June 1st designations in 2015 for performance reasons if their play declines this year.

The moves would never be executed solely because of the salary cap.

Tony Romo signed a contract extension in 2013 and had a designed restructure take place this year.

The team can restructure Romo's deal again in 2015, in fact, it's designed to be done.

Romo's going to remain the starting quarterback for as long as he's physically able and wants to keep playing.

A lot depends on how his back holds up..................3 more years of hits might take its toll.

I just mean that I can't see him playing for another team. If he wanted to play anywhere else, I can't imagine he would have signed the new contract int he first place. If the team, after 3 more seasons, gave him the opportunity to retire or to be released, I would guess he'd retire.

Well, we are on the verge of having another good OL. Add some running plays into the mix and that should help get Romo thru the rest of his career.

Everbody knows that our FO has no clue how to manage the salary cap. But with Garett in charge they seem to get on the right track (slowly).

The Romo deal was one of the baddest we ever made. But this came from the situation we put us in with him. Mismanagement for years before the deal lead to it.

So nothing new here.

If a player retires before the end of their contract, they owe the team some of their original signing bonus. The Dolphins and Ricky Williams went to court when he retired the 1st time.
