Is This The Best Realistic Scenario We Could Hope For Next Week?

In terms of playoff seeding. Realistically, Seattle is beating the Rams at home with that much on the line. They will get the 1.

Now, we should be rooting for Detroit next week, right? If they win, Detroit gets a 2 seed. GB drops to the 6 seed and we play them wild card weekend. With how the road to the playoffs are shaping up, we would be facing Detroit/GB back to back weeks. So it's not about avoiding either. It's whom would you rather play where. Give me playing in a comfortable dome in Detroit divisional round much more than traveling to Lambeau. I'll take my chances with Green Bay here, where they are not good on the road.

Yes, Green Bay lost last year to the Niners at home and some argue does their weather in January really give that style of offense they have. Their Super Bowl win came with them being a wild card and zero home games. But GB is not the same team this year as last year when SF beat them. They a machine at home. On the road they are very meh. And 2 of their road wins they had to squeak out. Dolphins and Jets.

I'd really want to play Arizona but there is no realistic scenario that drops them to the 6.

I think that's the most desirable route. Though it would be amazing to have a chance to go up into GB and to beat them on the road in a freezing cold game.

I think DET might actually pull off the upset in GB this week. They just seem to find ways to win games, and GB hasn't looked great in their last two outings. That should be a fun game to watch, too.

I played around with the ESPN playoff generator and if Seattle beats the Rams at CentryLinc (which I am sure they will)................there was no way for us to play Arizona in the first round. We played the loser of Green Bay/Detroit in every scenario.

Is this correct? If Seattle beats the Rams we play the loser of GB/Det no matter what?

Give me Green Bay at home any day of the week.

We will outgun them on offense and they are a terrible road team.

They have little to no match up for Dez and are easy to run against, we will score 35+ on them easily.

Their pass rush is crap except for Matthews but he is not going to get 5 sacks against our O Line and i am confident against them in a shoot out.

Yea, they struggled to beat Jimmy Clausen today...............LOL......................I think Green Bay rolls them and Detroit travels to Dallas for Wildcard weekend since Seattle is going to lock up the top seed.

The Lions i am not as confident against as they have the better defense to shut down our guns.

We do not really want to play a team with a decent defense and a gun slinging QB so early that could do anything.

Detroit has won a number of games this year by the skin of their teeth. They are simply not that good and I do believe Green Bay is going to stomp them.

OK boys, I have preached for a long time that a really good defense (Detroit) will always beat a good offense (Green Bay) and it is that time of the year when the best defenses show up big time. The question you should ask is how good is Detroit's offense against Green Bays defense. Looking at the way Green Bay has been playing lately I would rather face the weak Green Bay defense in Dallas and treat them the same way we treated the Colts. :omg:

"Detroit isn't beating Green Bay"

"St. Louis isn't beating Seattle"

What year do you guys think this is? How many picked the Commanders to beat the Eagles? ANY GIVEN SUNDAY, fellas.

The Rams are playing for pride against a division powerhouse who they have given fits in the past. They'd love to end their season on a high note, in Seattle, and to muck up the Seahawks' path to the Super Bowl.

Detroit is playing for the division title and possibly a 1st round bye. They'll be more than motivated. They also have a fearsome pass rush and Rodgers strained his calf yesterday. I'm expecting a close game. Green Bay will be favored to win but it's no lock. Lions haven't won in Lambeau since 1991... maybe they're due.

Exactly how I feel as well. Both Chicago and Minnesota played toe to toe with them. Don't see them going into Green Bay and getting the W.

I'd prefer Detroit/Arizona to start the playoffs. If they get through that and have to go to Lambeau, so be it. Have run game, will travel. 7-0 on the road.

Once you get in the playoffs, you're going to play a good team. That is more true than usual this year in the NFC with the lone exception being the eventual South winner and we have zero chance of playing them unless we meet in the NFC title game. That just isn't going to happen.
