to us hes worth more for sentamental reasons....you have to put yourself in the buyers shoes.......at this point in his career with his health issues is he worth 2 firsts? the answer would be no.

If a trade goes down, i would love to see Romo on the Jets. Not only because i get to watch all of their games being in NJ, but they are a much older team with a bunch of talent on offense. I know they are old but if i was the Jets, and i wanted to take some splash away from the giants, i wanted to give my veteran team some hope and my fan base, i trade a third that can become a second for Romo.

It makes too much sense. Otherwise they will go into next year with either Bryce Petty or Hackenberg as the QB. Fitzpatrick costs them 12 million this year, they can get out of his contract when they cut him, and bring in Romo for a few million more.

I think a Tony Romo led jet team can be a strong wild card team.

I'd assume AFC first off. Then check FO and coach desperation level. Once they bid against one another you can get a little more from the team or two Tony prefers. If it was release and sign scenario I'd be disappointed in the handling of the matter.

Romo trade value is directly correlated to a team's desperation level.
One needs only to look to this yr and the Sam Bradford trade

This^^^^

Anybody saying otherwise is clueless. NFL teams do crazy things to win every year.

Jets did well when Fitz played well last year. QB makes a huge difference

Romo to the Jets for Richardson. That would be an even trade, they get what they need and we get something we need.

Sam Bradford was/is younger. Age makes a difference.

I think he just ends up a cut. With his veto clause it just seems like too many things have to fall into place.

I don't think there is an organization crazy enough to give up that much for a washed up QB who wasn't even that good in his prime. I think someone may be willing to take on his contract though. I think a 5th or 6th rounder just to get his contract off the books would be a HUGE blessing for us.

We can't pay our backup QB $20 mil. That money has to be used on other roster positions. No way he can stay and continue being a distraction, while also crippling us with wasted cap space. Gotta do what is best for the team and trade him, provided there is someone interested.

  1. Romo has very low value on the trade market. Even without injuries, other teams have never valued him like Cowboys fans, and his age alone lowers his draft value. Then comes his fragility.
  2. Romo has ZERO chance of being a Cowboy next season...he's finished in Dallas...period.
  3. Even today, a team would give a first for Bradford before giving a first for Romo--age and durability are huge impacts on first rounder....not so much in middle rounds. Peyton Manning wouldn't command a first rounder in his last two years either.
  4. Showcasing Romo for a marginal future trade would be an all time stupid reason for messing with team chemistry and a rookie's preparation in this magical season. Dak is still a rookie; he's still learning every practice, every game, every play, and that's more important than any situation involving Tony Romo.

I wouldn't like to see tony in any other jersey for his career but I can see him maybe joining the coaching staff or organization in some capacity
