Did anyone else notice that on the interception that Romo threw trying to connect with Miles Austin...Smith had to have missed the audible. He is blocking DOWN the line of scrimmage and let Clay Matthews make a bee line to the QB. We can debate whether or not Romo should have audibled...but if Smith handles Matthes like he had the ENTIRE game....Romo can set his feet throw and Miles probably scores. Of course as a leader Romo has to go to the podium and take the blame. But I was curious if anyone else noticed that once again in a critical situation, Smith made his own contribution to the mistake.

Thats probably a miscommunication more than a blown assignment, if I had to guess.

Smith has been pretty strong all year. It should never have come to that in the first place. We should have been utilizing more ball control.

Romo shook off Clay and made him a non factor. He had no excuse for not setting his feet.

romo is not a good communicator. notice he's had issues communicating with multiple receivers/tightends/linemen his entire career. he is the only constant.

Not true, Romo bailed left and had a quick window to hit miles dragging to the right. It was an off-balance throw across the middle of the field, a pass he shouldn't have thrown based on the missed block.

Agreed. He shouldn't have even tried the throw, but taking the time to set his feet would have made it even more difficult.

I know he's catching flak for switching to a pass, but it would have worked if Clay didn't come in untouched. Miles had a step.

Re-watch the touchdowns on that 2012 game at New York

Not Tyron's fault. The play was a designed run to the right. Escobar was supposed to cut Matthews.

Ya, you're right. He and TO and he and Witten have been awful together.

This is my point. He made the audible...so EVERYONE needs to execute it. And if Smith does his part...we are not having this conversation.

I am not trying to let Romo off the hook. But in critical situations EVERYONE needs to execute.

the whole line is zone blocking right. Matthews is an unblocked player in that play call. Romo has an optio throw. They didn't change the play, romo just decided to throw instead of handing off.

its not smiths fault. Its not the coaching staffs fault. Its not miles fault.

its romos fault.

Tyron has been lights out. The bad throw caused the INT. Austin was open and Romo didn't hit the target.

OK...I have to go back and look. All I know is Matthews comes clean and I am trying to understand how that happened. Because Smith abused him all day.
