Yes, I know it's early and yes he not even played in a preseason game.

But Parcells said himself that Ware reminded him of LT. And that was from looking at film and the Senior Bowl.

So what about Ware reminds you of LT if at all or whomever you think he reminds you of. Negative answers are as welcome as positive ones. Just state your reasons in debatable and civil form please. It's a legitimate question IMO.

Nothing yet he has not played in any games. I would love it if he could play even close to what LT did but just do not believe in comparing rookies to one of the all time greats. I will say hearing that comparision coming out of Parcells mouth suprised me

they are of similar build and have some of the same physical traits in terms of speed and quickness..as for on the playing field, since I only saw Ware play twice on TV I cant even begin to make any sort of comparison between the two...LT was an overwhelming defensive player at UNC (then a very good college program)...Ware has been fairly dominant at a lesser school...

I'm sure Parcells is much more qualified to make the comparisons since he and the scouting staff probably broke down every play Ware has made the past 2-3 seasons...if he says Ware reminds him some of LT, he knows better than anyone else

I think it's Ware's speed, quickness, and raw talent that reminds BP of LT.

Can't wait to see this kid in action.

I'll echo that. You can't teach speed, quickness and talent. If his head is right, and he's smart he will dominate.

His teammates have to help him out too. If he's the only one putting pressure on, then they can tee off and double him with a back, but if Spears and Ferg, and Glover and company brings it too, he will be like a demonic Lion coming off that edge.

Remember in Techmo Bowl, the NES game in which LT was unstoppable. I hope they make Ware like this on Madden. LT in that game would block FGs too.

Go Ware.

I stipulated he has never played even a preseason game. What is it that Parcells sees that reminds him of LT.

I acknowledge that LT went to the Pro Bowl 10 times and recorded 132 1/2 sacks in 13 years. I think he is the only defensive player to be awarded NFL Player of the Year. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong. He is the cast for the current position now. The first one.

But he was "only" 6-3 and 237. Not even the size of Ware. And not as fast either.

It's only for grins as you're right. He can't be actually compared career wise. That would be ridiculous.

What does Parcells see to heap that kind of praise on a rookie from Troy State?

Parcells is probably just playing mind games with him. He thinks Ware has the physical tools, so he's already set the highest possible bar for the kid, in order to push him to his full potential. I doubt Parcells really expects to find another LT, but if he can just find something close, he'll be happy.

That's my theory, anyway.

I also hope one day Ware will break Joe Theisman's mouth. I cannot stand Theisman on TV. The most anti-cowboy announcer in the history of football.

I'm betting you have a recording of Joe's final Giants Commanders game. Snap, crackle, pop.

And don't forget Bo Jackson! Nothing was better than running Bo into a player that was already being blocked by one of your lineman, and watching the guy fly 20 yard up in the air while Bo keeps right on running!

It has to be just his sheer speed, agility, and balance at 250 lbs...

There was a thread last week about who Ware reminds you of in the last so many years, and I was having a hard time thinking of anyone who really compares. It's hard to say a defensive lineman, considering Ware will be standing up in a 34. And with the vast majority of teams the last ten or fifteen years playing 43s, there aren't a lot of candidates to choose from. And of course Parcells himself has had even fewer candidates on his own teams. The only one I can think of would be Willie McGinest, but I think Ware is faster, and McGinest grew to be a bigger, thicker type who played DE. So Ware has to be the most like LT he's ever had.

But whatever it is, Parcells has to be serious about it, because as reluctant as he is to praise rookies, I never thought I'd hear him compare one to his best player ever.
